Re: Convention terrain « Result #4 Yesterday at 8:38pm »
well. I didn't finish this for GASPCon in Pittsburgh. Mostly do to lifus interuptus. But here are some pics we took as we finished today. We still need to: 1. Clean up the flock 2. dry brush the swamp and place water effects in. 3. Add talus to the tracks 4. more debris around the crater and blast areas.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please let me know. Keith and I are looking for some ideas to work with the bomb craters.
We hope to finish this on Wednesday evening, right before New Years. Once that is done, maybe we can get Chris to stop by and we'll actually get a game in with an actual report and pictures!
. And from the picts I saw, he looked a lot taller and broader than everyone else... maybe a Werewolf himself? And that sinister scar... model SS guy.
Actually the scar would have detracted from model SS status among the german propagandists - they wanted clean Aryan knights. However he would have made an AMAZING Bond villain or even an Antihero character.
And when you track down his combat record.... I'd not want to go up against him normally, let alone with the setting of AE-WW2

Wow. I did not know that about the wolfsangel, thanks for that tidbit! I was just reading about Otto Skorzeny the other day and the Werwolf stuff. Really interesting. Over the Wire Downloads? « Result #13 on Dec 27, 2009, 9:02am »
Is there another source for the Over the Wire downloads besides the main site? I received the Occult book for Christmas, and I'm trying to refresh my memory on detachment building. Everything I'm finding on the forum refers me to Over the Wire 11 and links to the website, which is under construction. Unfortunately, the last OTW I have downloaded on my computer is number 10.

What about just having Iron Man as a rocketpack hero? Hand wave it a little to say that he has the tesla pistols built into his hands and you're pretty much set.

Chhers for that Darkson... so using the 'militia' miniatures I have from Musketeer I already have enough for a three man unit! The SS could easily number two, two man units once I've ordered the Bolt Action minis I have my eye on! Cool!

The blisters are sold as units. So if you want to do a Regular Greatcoat unit you would buy 1 blister. For 1 Green Volkstrum unit you would get one German Trooper blister. We wanted to make it as easy as we could on you guys.

Ok... slightly more 'on topic', rulebook never arrived before christmas holidays (no post now till tuesday! ) and I'm dying to put an order in for some new miniatures. So, if its not against forum or Darkson policy, could someone tell me how many models I need to make up a Volkssturm unit and how many I need for a Waffen SS unit (armed with StG's)?
The SS are going to be getting some love next year. We are going to be working on all of the Weird sculpts for AE so you all can get your forces ready to fight.

No, Werwolf was a separate thing. It grew out of an SS armed resistance effort in the late stage of the war that had limited success. The 'Wolf's Angle' symbol was used by the Nazi resistance movement during Allied occupation of Germany and because of this continues to be an outlawed symbol in modern Germany.

For the Kommando I used the German Sniper body with the SD arm set and a soon to be released Heavy Weapon head. I sculpted a monkey paw on his backpack.

just to confirm this is correct, i must take a Schutzkommando AND a Krighexe to get a werewolf? Secondly, what models have you used for the Schutzkommando and Krighexe?
Thanks, Doug
1.) Yes. You've got it right.
2.) The Wehrmacht officer and SD agent are great models to use for both of those guys, especially if you like to sculpt additional items like cloaks and pouches or hands.
I used a combination of GW zombie parts, Empire militia and catachan parts for my SS weirds too. Just what I hand on hand in my bits box.
You could also use Adolph Brunner from the Anima Tactics line for a good Kreighex or Schutz Kommando. He looks appropriately creepy and nazi like to fill in the role.
Be sure to post whatever you end up using for models so others can see it too.

I won't go into too much detail (mostly because it is early and I've been up all night), but here's one important difference with AE-WWII - the D-Day landings were a failure. Germany is in a much better state (more or less) than it was in reality.
Better is a relative term, as I read the fluff the bombing offensives of the US Army Air and the British have still pounded Germany something hard, meaning the Volkssturm will still be armed with hand-me-downs and obscure weapons as first priority for arms will still go to the Waffen SS and the Wehrmacht. Just because D-Day failed doesnt mean German industry hasnt been reduced to cottage output. Im more interested in the status of Polesti - thats far far more critical in the long run to the status of the German war machine. I know that Rommel is in the Middle East with the goal of capturing the oil fields but I believe its still up in the air.

He was an OSS Agent during that time period. In fact you can get a life size version of his WWII shield from SideShow that is displayed on an OSS Crate.

Capt. America is just the perfect addition to any AE WWII American team!
Of course, my first exposure to "Weird War 2" was because of Cap. Back when I was just a kid, and comics were just a quarter, I found a 'double issue' for sale at the local grocery store. It was 'The INVADERS" annual. It was Cap, the Submariner, and The Human Torch (not the fantastic four ones) taking on the Nazis. Still my favorite comic of all time!
