I like the idea of a pre-adamantium Wolverine teaming up with Captain America during WWII. It's plausible (from a comic book perspective), and leaves out some of Wolvie's more extreme powers. I like that idea too. Maybe more of a mountain man sort of character, with a sword, so you could model him anyway you wanted. Or maybe, craft after after the wild west tracker/marauder hero "Liver Eatin' Johnson", scourge of the Crow.

How about a Canadian Super Soldier unit that is boosted by steroid injections taken from the hormones of a captured sasquatch. They gain a high strength and regenerative abilities making them tough in close combat but highly aggressive and somewhat uncontrollable requiring constant attention from their handlers (officer or whatever unlocking unit for a weird science unit).
The unit is a 2 man team of experienced Canadian Soldiers (use the British Partrooper stat line) and gets high Strength and Close Combat stats, Regeneration like Skin Walkers, and Berserk like a Strumaffe and/or Feral like a Werewolf. Due to the focus on close combat and the aggressiveness they loose the Hand Grenade, Rifle Training, Obstinancy, and have a lower Drive than the regular troops.
Canadian Dog Soldiers Regular Weird Science Unit (can be upgraded to Veteran) 2 Enhanced Soldiers M 3 RC 4+ CC 4 A 3 S 3 DR 3 W2 Equipment: Rifle No.4 MkII Abilities: Regeneration, Berserk, Feral

BTW, when I mean Feral for these guys, I don't mean it quite in the same literal sense as the Werewolf. Instead of think of them as still punching and stabbing an already dead body as they're just in a berserker rage.
Also rather than having Hand Grenades, how about a big knife that would give them an additional edge in CC.
The Dog Soldiers name is the only thing I could think of, didn't want it so obvious as saying Canadian Wolverine Soldiers or something. Sasquatch Soldiers or Steroid Soldiers just sounded silly, and I figured they'd want to keep it quiet as to where they're getting the hormones. Probably name them Berserkers or Wolf Soldiers or maybe pick up some Native American name for a ferocious wild animal or something.
Another thing I just realized is that without the Obstinancy, my proposal has a really low Drive. Maybe a Drive of 4 without Obstinancy would be better. Also maybe bumping their Move from 3 to 4" as a result of their increased strength. This would give them a better charge range, better than a human but not as good as a dog and doesn't have the Sure-Footed ability.

Hmm...let me see.
(Flipping through the faction lists for the next three expansions)
Some of those ideas could definitely work, in fact you might be surprised to see some of them in the future. ;D
Try'em out in some friendly games and let us know what happens.
One thing to keep in mind when playing with this is an adage from DC over at Privateer Press: "A weak set of rules for a model ruins the model. But too strong of a model ruins the game!"

I think you could build whatever sort of character you like with the hero styles and rules, so if a WWII Wolverine is your bag, go for it.
For my perespective though, he sticks out like a sore thumb.
We do have plans for Canadians, but no promises on super-soldiers.

I think Super Soldiers would be a wicked weird-war twist for Canada, thanks to groups like Alpha Flight and Weapon X Marvel have made it seem the Hero capital of the world (After new York) Something like a general profile, which can have artifacts and weapons joined to it to individualise them, instead of having to create named heroes in the Studio or take them from Pulp City. A couple of general names could be: Strong Man. Zoom. Flyboy. Mind Reader. Fireman. Big Freeze. Hopefully their respective powers are clear enough from the corny names start them off at Veteran 1-man unit, this would let you field your own superhero team against the enemies of Canada!

That and retroactively sticking Wolverine into WWII is another of Marvel's inspid retarded crap-stain ideas of recent vintage. Rather like, oh, the Sentry and Clor and Anti-Venom and, well, plenty to choose from. Actually, if I recall correctly, they connected Wolverine to WW2 back in the late 80's. Either way, it's been almost 20 years. That being said, one of the later adaptations that I do like is linking the Weapon Plus program to the Super-Soldier program run by the Allies, with skinny Steve Rogers becoming Weapon I, a.k.a. Captain America. (Yes, I know they did goofy things with it later on, like bringing in the Cuckoos and Fantomex.) (Anyways.) One thing to note for bringing Logan into AE-WWII, is that his healing factor is fast, yes, but this is before he has his adamantium. And broken bones and mangled organs do take him a little while to heal, at least longer than the scope of a skirmish game. Slightly higher Armor can count as his healing factor, since he could take small hits and keep on moving. Etc. So he'd be tough, but not unstoppable.

CmdrKily, lots of good ideas there. I love the idea of a scenario/campaign with the Arkham Society leading an American expedition in a race across the frozen land to stop the Germans from unleashing something unworldly.
Also, I love the word 'Neuschwabenland.'

I was running across Modern Mechanix website for some ideas for another project and ran across this cover which reminded me of the snowmobile idea I had mentioned for this. Again, take the rules for a motorcycle, and allow it to ignore snow rules for movement. A militarized version of one of these could be essentially using Jeep stats but ignore the impact of snow on movement.

Hmm....some good fodder for some non-occult, non-extra-terrestrial creatures from Antarctica. Navy vs. the Night MonstersA prehistoric carnivorous plant, that develops the means of locomotion to catch the dwindling food supply on an Antarctica before it freezes over. The seeds of these plants remain frozen in the ice until the Germans discover it while building Neu Schwabbeland. The plants grow in the warm envrionment within the base and start eating it's inhabitants. Perhaps the plants reproduce and incapacitate their prey by spraying spores that choke the victim and allows new plants to start growing inside the victims. Think crossing John Carpenter's The Thing with Day of the Triffids. This might make a nice campaign setting. Start off with a German U-boat found adrift in the South Atlantic. The crew all dead and the ship full of an unusual plant life. The investigators are attacked by the plantlife (some of which is growing right out of the bodies of the sailors). The survivors sink the U-boat but were able to determine that it came from Antarctica. Also the team theorizes that the extreme cold weather keeps it dormant and salt water will kill it, but if it gets to some warm land it could grow out of control. Weaponizing it is a highly dangerous possibility that no one really wants the other side to have. The end of the campaign could be the surviving investigating forces banding together to keep this threat from getting off of Antarctica and try to get out of Antarctica alive.

Am I the only one who feels the monsters in this movie resemble the Elder Things or Crinoids from Lovecraft's At the Mountains of Madness? Sadly, the prints of this movie are in very bad shape, so don't expect a stirring visual presentation.
