The movie was called "cast a deadly spell" but otherwise you were right on. There were actually 2-3 movies made in that series. They were pretty good movies very noirish. It was an interesting premise where minor magic's are commonplace enough that everybody (well almost) uses some form of magic as a convenience.
Perhaps they might make an interesting "special order" as well. Something to the effect of making a vehicle or experimental device malfunction. I think that would be an interesting integration.

I watched "Big Trouble in Little China" for the umpteenth time again this past weekend. The Chinese do have some "magic" past that may work. My wife is Chinese and still practices a few things from the old country. Not sure if China will play a part in a future "Over the wire", but if you want some ideas let me know.

It's probably a safe bet that some Taoist sorcery will figure into the arsenal of the KMT when the time comes to unleash the Chinese into the fray.

Taoism is more closely linked to magic in Chinese folklore than Confucian philosophy. Everything from Tsui Hark movies to classic literature like Journey to the West feature sorcerers employing the power of Tao to affect the world around them.

Ooh, I could totally see items channeling the power of the Eight Immortals, and geomancers trying to triangulate their spells...

I'm surprised nobody has brought it up before (perhaps for good reason, now that I think about it) but it was originally the Nazi Zombies mod for WAW that led me here, and, well, SS zombies will always have a place in my heart, and there ought to be room for at least a small zombie outbreak X3.
Forgive me if I'm being a dumbass >.>

Check out the latest Over the Wire for some zombie goodness. However they are not your usual flavor of zombies.

I'm a big champion for getting zombies into the game, just not in an overdone fashion where they completely change the focus from WWII to survival horror. I'd also say the chances of any zombies that do make it into the game being a part of either the German Wehrmacht or SS are pretty remote. The ideas we've discussed are quite different.

It would be amusing to see the US with the Zombies and the Germans with clerics. But thats me

One thing I thought was cool in the SotTR fluff was the NKVD would round up zombies and pen them in for later use. When they needed to encourage their conscripts to charge the Germans, instead of training machine guns on them they'd just unleash the zombies behind them.
I had proposed an idea of a Psi-Zombie. Not really a form of undead but more like a brain dead person. These were political prisoners and POWs that were subjected to intense psychic interrogations and torture in the gulags. Their brains were 'burned-out' and were subject to psychic control. The NKVD figured they could be fitted with anti-tank dog bombs and armor and marched into enemy lines under the direction of a Psi-Officer.
Although not the flesh eating type, when the Psi Officer is not spending AP controlling them, they tend to stagger around in random directions and sometimes accidentally setting off their bombs.

CmdrKiley, I really like that idea. It's unique to the game using the Psi Offices and soviet flair (love the bomb idea) and yet mindless as a zombie should be. Nice.

I work and I slave giving you guys unique zombies that even Rob approves of, and this is the thanks I get? Cries for 'MOAR'? You can't have any zombies until you eat the undead nazi pudding! How can you have your zombie meat if you don't eat your undead pudding! ;D Anyway, there are some neat ideas in there. Stay with us for a little bit some neat things are coming down the pike. I think you will all be pleased. Cheers, Chris

as I say every time I buy more zombie models. 'You can never have enough zombies.' If you've seen my collection you'd know I'm a firm believer in that philosophy.

Chris,
Look on the bright side. AE:WWII probably has more 'flavors' zombies than any other game system and still doesn't have to resort to the same-old same-old staggering flesh eating Romero-esque zombie that everyone else uses.
hmmmm....flavors of zombies....something just doesn't sound right about that.
