The Panzer Knight looks very interesting, is it me or does it have wings on its back? (aside from the ears) I must admit I rather like the gratuitous swastika- this is the SS after all. In the lower picture is there some kind of Allied mecha? I can definately see what look like MkIV Panzers destroyed. The "Phantom Creeps" robot- did he steal his head from Easter Island? ;D Reminds me of "Monster from the Black Lagoon".

Yeah, that's one of the Kishin Korps mechs in the foreground. And, believe it or not, those aren't wings behind the Panzer Knight - its a huge cape/flag! Think I can safely say that is the only time I've ever seen a mech with a cape. As for gratuitous swastikas, ethical questions aside, if you put them on your models they can't be sold in Germany. Graven Images had to redesign their SS Black Knights for this reason - their breastplates had the sowelio rune emblazoned on them and in order for the miniatures to be legal in Germany, the rune had to be removed.

Thats quite a cape!
On the Swastika front, well ethically our game advocates use of genetic technology to make inhuman soldiers so I'm not too worried. This is Pulp and a game. The swastika fits for fanatical factions like the SS (though not the Waffen SS). On the sculpted issue, thanks, I'd forgotten. So basdicly swastikas in art/painted examples but not sculpted on.

Well I would put swastikas and other nazi logos on official artwork or models since it would prevent them from being sold in Germany.

Precisely. If a piece actually required that sort of detail, it should be a seperate component that could be left off so that the model could still retail in Germany (rather like how Dreadnought sarcophagus have different 'lids' on the 40k kits). Smaller instances, like daggers or collar insignia are so small they'd really need to be picked out by the painter rather than the modeler.
I have to admit that I find it frustrating that historical detail is often compromised because of worries along these lines (I mean, really, anybody buying a $100 U-boat model isn't going to boycott the product because of an accurate flag being included in the kit). Also, the sort of psychotic loons who embrace the sort of philosophy as Hitler doesn't need paraphenalia to thrive. Evil is a very personal thing, after all and it's very tricky to legislate what a person thinks in his own mind. I also worry that Germany's well-intentioned laws are actually counter productive, adding a dangerous degree of mystery and 'forbidden taboo' quality to the Nazis. Nothing is so seductive as the romance of a lost cause and I worry that heavy-handed laws in Germany prevent alot of accurate information from diseminating to the general public.
Whew, end of rant.
And I whole-heartedly endorse genetic manipulation to create uber-soldiers! This needs to happen, I've been waiting since I was six to see talking gorillas running around shooting things and burning stuff down.

Havent we all...*heartful sigh* ;D I agree, but I feel leaving swastikas off (unless they are vital) and allowing painters to do them instead might well be easier.
