Indeed Darkson, love the details, was really fun to paint because it was clear what everything was! I'd love to see more minis in this vein, cause the other stuff by other companies in the historical 28mm ranges is pretty junky in comparison. I'd especially love to get those Fallshirmjager that have been mentioned... I'd do a whole detachment for them And hrm. I already entered my SS officer in armor, but that was a weird type, non-Darkson mini, so this one could be my Darkson and historical mini entry. I shall do so...

Little preview of something I hope gets done this week... *cue the show tune music* Germany was having trouble what a sad sad story, Needed a new leader to restore its former glory, Where oh where was he? Where could that man be? We looked around, and then we found, the man for you and me! *In Uma Thurman's voice:* Ze Führer iz coming! Ze Führer iz coming! Ze Führer iz coming!

Well it's hard to get more strange (and potentially controversial) than converting a weird war Hitler... What I wanted to do most was bring the legendary final boss of the original Wolfenstein 3D to the table top, so in part this is my homage to the games. If nothing else, in AE I may use him as a "final boss" for campaigns. I went with the SA brownshirt look, seemed more appropriate for the Führer. To go along with my SOTR army, he has the 1st SS Division Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler (appropriately ) shield and key icon on his right shoulder pad, and the swastika on the left. The bits are pretty evident. I used a plastic GW termie for the majority. The handles of the miniguns are old marine knife pommels. The miniguns themselves are from Hasslefree mini's Grym line. The head is from the West Wind model Spear of Destiny (yet another Wolf reference, I think the mini was destined for this fate). Here is a side by side of the inspiration and the result:

Very nicely done, and the head looks pretty spot-on, too.
