The first the two mercs knew of the bounty hunters chasing them was the explosion from the engine room. On their vids they could see the wreckage, with the engineering crew of the cargo hauler thrown as if rag dolls. The artificial gravity failed at that point too, and the nikkar grabbed the nearest restraint, pulling himself along. His Pollux companion, a crackshot by even professional reckoning, was not so fortunate and he was pulled upwards gently.
In the ensuing confusion, the pair missed the entry of two figures, one shimmering slightly but unmistakeable as nikkar, the other a logician with a suped-up electrolaser in hand.
Helping his partner to right himself, the nikkar growled low. "We gotta get out of here, pagak, lest we dishonor the boss. Wheere are the escape pods on this tub?"

Had my first games of Bounty this evening. The first two were simply practice games, one apiece to my friend and I. The third however, was an attempt by bounty hunters in my employ to secure information as to the whereabouts of Mr Itisky from two mercs who work for him. It was a lot of fun.
We used a 5' long table as our ship (after playing the first game 'straight' and the second with poor atmosphere, planet side, we decided to try out the spaceship rules). We rolled Get to the Escape Pods as the scenario and Zero Gravity as the conditions. Fun for me since my bounty hunter list has a Nikkar with S7! My logician was a little worried though at S2. Both his models were going to be hampered by the conditions too. The board was split into cargo and engineering sections, with two large doors forming effective choke points. The escape pods were located in the engineering section.
Both crews deployed fairly simply, with neither side getting a clear advantage (well, matter of perspective really! I was pretty set to seal the doors and wait him out!). The bounty hunters won the initiative and my logician sprinted to the first large door, tripping the booby trap set by the mercs (for just this eventuality!). He took a wound, and then promptly sealed the door tight. The mercs began the long trek to the escape pods, and the nikkar bounty hunter moved into position at the other large door.
The mercs continued their push forwards for two more turns hampered as they were by the lack of gravity, whilst the nikkar sealed the other door and he and his partner settled in to wait.
Turn four was where things got interesting. The mercs gained the initiative and the nikkar merc burst through the doors, gunning down the logician with two quick bursts of fire from his LRF. Suddenly the nikkar bounty hunter was upon him, but the merc's heavy armour and the zero G deflected a lot of the crushing force. The Pollux reached the fight at that point and fired into the melée, with both shots finding his compatriot and one of them piercing his armour, causing a wound.
Another wound was inflicted when the bounty hunter got into the swing of hinge and his pike found its mark, ripping through the armour. The merc took a small step back and fired at his opponent, one of the shots catching his enemy a glancing blow, causing a wound. The Pollux took aim and fired, missed, blasting a hole into the bulkhead...
Explosively, the bulkhead burst outwards, dragging the merc nikkar with it. The bounty hunter quickly grabbed a handle and easily resisted, as did the Pollux, but it was to have a devastating effect on his teammate. The door in which the combatant had been standing slammed shut, pushing the bounty hunter back towards Engineering, coder to the hole.
The unfortunate merc blasted away at the nikkar bounty hunter, but the bounty hunter closed on him and mercilessly beat him out the hole in the bulkhead, out into space. There was now no way the remaining merc could reach the escape pods, and no way the bounty hunter could get to the remaining merc to retrieve the information. He beat a hasty retreat to his nearby ship, carrying the body of his fallen comrade. Piloting their shared ship to a safe minimum distance, he watched with admiration as the logician's handiwork took its full effect, and the cargo ship was ripped to thousands of small fragments by its own engines.
"You certainly know how to blow up a ship," he chuckled to his unconscious friend.

Result: primary objective to the bounty hunters; faction objective to the bounty hunters (1000 credits for an Elite kill); plot objective, failed. The information eas lost in the explosion. Could've used that 2000 credits too. Sorry dijit!

Question: what are the rules regarding a model in close combat shooting at the model or models it's in close combat with? Is it legal?
Correction: there is some odd text in the Duel scenario, which seems like it comes from the Foraging scenario.
Observation: I love this game. I think the rules for space combat are fantastic, the flow of the game is great, and I'm looking forward to more narrative style games in the future. Thanks Darkson!
