These questions might have been answered before on the forum, but I am unable to find the answers via the search function, so if they have been answered please point me at them if not please answer. ;D
These questions came up when my gaming group got together to figure out what lists we wanted to collect. We came across a few things we don't know how to handle.
1. When selecting a Tank detachment, does the Crew of the tank "count" as an Infantry selection for the purposes of figuring out if you can take a Support weapon choice in the Detachment? We are aware that they are rated Infantry, but are not a detachment choice per se, but rather part of the mandatory Light Tank role for it...
2. If, a detachment chooses to take the Anti-Tank weapons Special Order, does that mean you'd be able to field say a HMG team in a game without enemy armor in it, and in case your enemy shows up with armor you can activate the special order and substitute the HMG for say a Bazooka or Panzerschreck? As well as issue Panzerfausts or M18 Recoilless Rifles to the infantry?
I will add more questions later if some appear...

1 - that would be a no. They don't count as an infatry selection for unlocking purposes.
2 - You would only take the AT Special Order if the enemy had tanks (unless you wanted some of those AT weapons anyway). So that would be something determined before the game starts. You wouldn't deploy your MG crew and then activate your SO to swap them for something else.

Thank you for answering. What I can gather from what you're saying is, that it is intended that you choose your SO's right before game start when you know what your opponents list is about, and not when you create the list? Does this also apply to competitions and tournaments for example?

It depends on the scenario type. In an unplanned scenario, you have to have your SOs selected ahead of time. In a planned scenario, you can know more about your opponent's detachment before finalizing them.
For tournaments, most times you'll be running an unplanned scenario, unless you wanted to allow folks to craft forces specifically to each scenario and to each opponent (increasing the tourney time by quite a bit, but generating some more memorable battles possibly).

Thank you. Best part of it is, our gaming group is going to learn how to tackle Tanks at an early stage because one from our group, wants to field a Panther Tank from the outset. This means we're all going to have to field AT assets in one way or the other... Hence the question about the SO.
