November 7th, 1945 – President Douglas MacArthur has issued a statement announcing his intention to address the nation on the fourth anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, December 7th. In a bold move, the President has announced that he plans to issue his address from the front lines, somewhere in the Pacific. “These are still my men,” the President said in a statement today, “and I want to show them that I’m still with them.” The details of the President’s trip to the Pacific remain secret but assurances have been made that the President’s safety is paramount. The December 7th address will be the first made by President MacArthur from the Pacific since taking office.
