I saw a documentary about that on Discovery Channel where scientists tried to explain it. To me there were just too many coincidents.
But I do remember that the poison they used would practically lose its effect at a certain temperature and since they baked that cake the poison got too warm.

look im not to keen on having zombies etcin this game but we cant leave occult out. @librarian brent just because games have cliche, or zombies or magic doesnt make them boring. Also a lesson to everyone cliche isnt always bad. Space marines (halo aliens etc) anyone?

Well you cant hate Zombies, can you?? Name one bad Zombie movie! Hard isnt it... but i see the point and IMHO you can easly leave Zombies out, by using Lovecartian styled Occult "system" and made the creatures summonde attack all humas. Nazies just dont belave that they cant control them...

I think were forgetting the fact that pretty much everything in the pulp genre is cliche.

I LOVE zombies! Love them! But I just want to keep away from the stereotypical undead zombie in this game. The germans are basically zombies in the fact that they are pumped so full of drugs that they are almost impervious to pain, but that's as close as it's going to get. You're right, everything that we're doing is cliche, but our job is to take that cliche and try to come up with a (somewhat) original take on it.

Yeah, the whole point of good pulp is that it's both cliched and different at the same time.

I think the German troopers arent really zombies just because of the drugs, but also of the constant indoctrination they received from their propaganda, I think this should be reflected in the game.

Mans, lets the Rasputin rest in peace! Please! And zombies too...When i`we say about soviet occultism i have in seeing absolutely another. The TRUE communistic learning is thing possible to understanding only for faithfull Leninets ;D This is allmighty learning therefore is rightfull learning But also this is absolutely sacred learning. All this things, Marks, Lenin, communistic ideology, it`s just a screen, husk. But TRUE communism - this is a real power ;D Rationalism? Who say what TRUE communism is irrational? Men, you just is not faithfull Leninets! ;D OK, enough jokes. Will be better if i`ll read some words for fluff...

Oh! What a sarcasm ;D I love you too ;D Occultism IMO something realy awfull. What can be mush terrible than uncertainty? Do you play in DOOM III? Remember the full darkness. You dont know how many z... your ex friends walk around you and wish your brain. This is a real fear ;D Therefore i cant finish this game So, occult actions is not direct action. Not fireball but voodoo doll. (Great slogan ;D). It`s must be a mystical events, strange rumours, extraordinary deaths...

Perhaps keep it in the background for a long time, GW did a similar trick with the c'tan for example. Keeping the idea in the background (c'tan weapon) and then years later they created background on them...however we shouldnt get c'tan in the game!!!

Finaly another doom III fan, not complaing about "Its not scary" *whimpers "its rubbish because you cant fix the torch to the gun" I like the doom III backstory, it is before the deamons arrive, machinery plays up, people go mental and have visions etc... edit: i cant finish the game beacause its too damn hard.
