True..I just though back to DUST and the South Pole resources of VK. If something like that was there (or maybe something Occult) Britain would have to keep the Island whereas an invasion is a bit pointless unless there is something to protect.

Hmm The South Pole and the North Pole were potential areas for conflict. Something about German scientific and military facilities in the north and submarine bases in the south. But yeah that is still up for debate.
Invasion wouldnt be that pointless, if the British could remove the pro German government and install their own puppet regime there it could mean they would gain a serious economic advantage in South America.

But an economic advantage which would require serious amounts of troops (first the victory, then guerilla war and then rebuilding the army there, patrolling, making sure other S.American nations dont take advantage....) and would be more costly than tany revenues earned. No, a guerilla resistance (cheap and easy) seemws the best course.

It wouldnt, you simply need to remove the present government, install a puppet regime and then let your companies invest there and set up their shop there. The US have been doing that for over a century in Central America and the Carribean.
Might be a method, I think most of the attack would be done indirectly, which is more fitting for the vision I have for the South America front. Basicly some sort of Cold War in which the factions dont really fight against each other directly but through puppet regimes and armies. The British would train guerillas on their Falkland base and from there deploy them in Argentina.
The Argentines might have received equipment from the Germans (including submarines) and might try to stop the British transports to Argentina.

Submarine war is a very good idea.......I like that lots!
Removing any reign is difficult, prticually in the middle of a world wqar when nobody had enough troops for anything, hence my thoughts that actual faction prescence would be slight with mostly guerillos and various local armies doing fighting, a very Chindit-esqe campaign.

That's what Im trying to say with a "cold war" situation. The British woudnt directty fight the Germans in South America, its pro German and pro Allied forces fighting each other there.

I think Cold war is what we're aiming for in every non major theatre of war.
