German Soldiers: whats up with them?

Okay, so we know the germans are somewhat upgraded by chemicals (and perhaps some eugenics program), however what are those upgrades? What are their new qualities and powers?

OK so here is a small look into the "UberGerman".

It depends on what Faction they are from? We will talk about the one we know about the Genetically altered ones. These Germans are one of many experiments some have worked (This batch of Trooper's) some have gone very wrong (And I do mean very wrong). These Troops can have boost's of energy that allow them to become combat machines. Increased endorphins that allow them to ignore pain and keep going after a "Normal" man should be dead. One draw back to these increases is it wares down the trooper much quicker the direct result is an early death. It seems that the strains that the drugs put on the human body burn out and destroy all organs and nerves after a few battles. The more times the drugs are use the greater the threat of the trooper expiring.

So basicly you roll to test drugs, the more rolls the more modifiers so more liklihood of death on a 1 or somesuch?

Do all factions have basic drugs (speed, pain) with extras (immunity to occult stuff? extra strength? enhanced eyesight?)

That could be really cool when you play campaigns in which veterans would practically not exist in this form.

In the background you could have it that the germans are experimenting on a way to prevent the body to burn out from these upgrades. You could include a special character on who these experiments have been succesfull, he would be unique since he was the only one who has been succesful to survive and keep on fighting with his upgrades.

How would the SS fit into this though? Are they also upgraded? Or less upgraded?

German factions huh...how many are you planning on having?

what is the extent of the boost from the chemicals?
does it allow them to go without sleep for days?
fluff info, really...
(had an idea for some fluff writing earlier, but it kinda gets ruined if it turns out the combat drugs only give a boost when the soldier is on the cusp of death...)

I would assume a soldier could be able to fight on for days without rest and still remain superior to normal human soldiers. However since the drug kills a soldier slowly I would think they are only able to live for several months until their bodies can no longer handle the upgrades.

The idea of a background article which goes into the german ubersoldat story might be quite interesting. You would have info (and artwork) on some protoversions which more vampiric/wolf characteristics, and then the ones we have now. Perhaps also some other experiments (pictures of failed experiments on strong water) could be covered too, what about some eugenics program?

Here are some ideas that will give you a better idea of the way things are forming for the German Factions. You may have many different types of SS(Or German Troops/Heros). The SS under the faction that does experiments would be the drugged up ones. Than you could have SS under the Occult Faction some might be "Normal" some might be possessed . Than you could have a faction of "Purest" who believe that Germans are already the Chosen people and look down on those who wish to change or alter the purity of their people. In this faction you would have only "Unaltered Humans".

Hmm I think it might be cool to incoorporate breeding programs for the "Purist" faction. Sure they are unaltered and believe to be the Chosen Ones already, but I do think they would have some serious regulations on reproduction. Look into eugenics and breeding programs for this I think.

Definately breeding programs...perhaps even purity tests every week but they are more courageous than others.

Why a purity test every week? its not like next week you would have a different biological father

No, if they are on the front line facing 'unclean' enemies then they must be psycologically tested to see they maintain their pure Aryan-inity...just a fun idea but probably a bit too 40K-esque. I can see them taking biological cleansing showers after contact with non-Aryans or somesuch though...
