So we went crazy and played a game with 2 detachments to a side, Germans vs an American/Soviet alliance. The mission was the Last Patrol. No one wanted to be the defender so we diced off for it, with the Germans losing.

A Green squad was sacrificed to upgrade the Veteran NKVD officer to Elite and the chuman parent allowed him to take more Chumans, that's how there's 3 Greens and an Elite. Also, unless I'm missing something, I don't think we should've been able to take the mortar.

The terrain was a partially ruined village, with several destroyed houses but also several still standing. Stone walls littered the spaces between the buildings, marking off farmland. The Germans had a lone volkssturm squad on patrol in the center of the table.
The Soviet/American force deployed in a spread out manner with a unit of rocket troops and robots on the left. Next to it the M2 Halftrack with 2 chuman units and the starshina readied to run right into german territory. In the center a unit of chumans, the airborne officer, and a unit of robots stared down the volkssturm. The soviet mortars deployed in the center back, to cover the entire field. On the right flank, the Buffalo, a unit of Soviet Guard, the NKVD officer, and another unit of rocket troopers deployed. The third unit of rocket troopers got hit with stragglers and were off the table.
The Germans won the initiative and the volkssturm sprinted away, with the chumans in hot pursuit. The robots in the center suppressed them while the airborne officer popped out to kill a single guy. On the left, the allied forces advanced: the half track (aka barrell o' monkeys) rolled forward and the chumans & starshina deployed so that the half track could shield them. The vehicle then fired its M2 on the volkssturm, killing one. On the right, the allied forces took cover, waiting for the counter attack.
Next turn, the allies won iniative and the chumans charged the lone Volkssturm, securing the prisoner. Onto the field came the Panzerschreck squad...at point blank range with the half track. Luckily the shot went wide. However, the loader called in an artillery strike right on top of the collection of vehicle and chuman squads. Thankfully it deviated. Finally, on came the German sniper on the right side of the field. He fired at the buffalo but couldn't penetrate its armor. (we were having each detachment activate a unit per turn, to speed things up).
The German forces delpyed onto the table, a wehrmacht squad and an officer running up the left flank, another wehrmacht squad next to the panzerschreck quad. In the center the Mg 42 team, an officer, a sniper and a wehrmacht squad deployed in and around a ruined building. On the left deployed another wehrmacht squad (by the sniper) and a volkssturm squad & Mg42 team on the right side of a building. These various squads shot at and suppressed the chuman squad who took the prisoner as well as the frotn chuman squad that go out of the half track.
Meanwhile, the allied forced had the half track shield the prisoner and chuman squad (exposing the front chuman squad that unloaded). On the left the robots moved up and suppressed the panzerschreck team and the wehrmacht squad. On the right, the NKVD officer moved out to suppress a wehrmacht squad. The mortar fired, killing a lone wehrmacht soldier in the center. Meanwhile, across the board the rocket troopers made pop-out attacks, killing the panzerschreck loader on the left and two members of the volkssturm squad on the right.
A ruined building in the center became quite crowded: a chuman unit fled into it for cover, followed by the second chuman squad and starshina. Next the straggler rocket troopers came on the board, hiding in the building as well.
The battle joined in earnest but the German forces were by and large suppressed. On the left the Mg42 team saw an opening and shot at a rocket trooper squad that hadn't fled out of LOS to it. A lot of dice later and the trooper was perforated meat. On the left, the german assassin officer came around the flank and fired on the lone rocket trooper, wounding him.

The volkssturm on the right fled off the table, but the MG42 team simply wouldn't die. The rocket troopers made their pop up attacks but failed to hurt any of them (low str rolls on the guns combined with some awesome rolling for saves). In later turns, the buffalo simply suppressed them. Meanwhile, the soviet guard peeled off to meet up with the prisoner who was sprinting backwards.
From there we called it because the majority of german forces were suppressed, dead, or engaged with the two squads of chumans. The left flank attack was having some success, but the robots were double back to suppress them once they broke cover. The right flank was holding, especially the mg42 team, but the buffalo was closing and the rocket troopers were still able to make a pop up attack. Further, the germans weren't gong to catch the prisoner and their secondary objective was unlikely (they would have to capture the airborne officer or the buffalo in melee). Meanwhile, we were on our way to getting the attrition achievement and my airborne officer could zip 24" for the breakthrough at any moment.
All in all, a fairly one sided game but they had us sweating for the first few turns. Unfortunately, the Germans had to deploy basically in the open which exposed them to being suppressed like crazy. Especially since the rocket trooper army has three units designed to pin down the enemy. However, I think we cheated with the mortar...
On the whole, I'm noticing the chumans are really hard to use. Being a green unit and needing LOS to charge requires you to essentially expose them to suppressing fire. On the whole melee units are relatively tough to use. Not a complaint...as the frontal charge against firearms (and machine guns in general) is usually a bad idea.
