I was looking at the Sd Kfz 221 and the Sd Kfz 250. On the 250 it says that the Mg 34 is turret mounted but if you look at it the MG34 is forward facing. If you look at the 221 the MG34 is in a turret and not just forward facing. So, I wonder was there an error on these two vehicles?

Something else about vehicles: historically one of the ways troops dealt with vehicles is to run up to and shove grenades into treads, down the hatch, etc. Yet there's no rules for this in AE WWII. Is this an intentional oversight?
Maybe grenades to be used in close combat against a vehicle? I'm thinking that in open topped vehicles the crew would grab the grenade at throw it away from the vehicle (frantically). Whereas with vehicles that are not open topped, the grenade would simply roll off the place where the soldier placed it?
The rule would look something like this: models with grenades can use them against a vehicle in close combat. This represents jamming them in treads or tossing them intot he laps of the crew. If the model with the grenade wins the combat, then the grenade strikes the exact center of the vehicle (place the template). Not for very small vehicles, the attacking model can also be caught in the blast.
If the model loses the combat, then the grenade deviates from the center of the vehicle 1d6" in a random direction. This represents the grenade falling from whatever nook it was placed and bouncing on the ground. If the model loses combat against a vehicle that is open topped, then roll 2d6 for the deviation and take the higher result. This represents the crew of the vehicle frantically grabbing the grenade and hurling it away.
What do you think?

Historically, both of these vehicles had MG34's mounted in turrets. the pic of the 250 is a little deceiving. But the 221 should definitely be turret-mounted. I'll add it to the errata. -Matthew

Is this an intentional oversight? We intentionally left out rules like this primarily for ease of play. However, we do have plans to include rules for 'sticky bombs', satchel charges and other such devices that could be used by infantry against vehicles. In the meantime, the rule you wrote looks perfect! Give it a try and let us know how it plays. This is the kind of thing we could definitely put in an issue of Over the Wire, making it official. Playtest it and then get back to me and we'll see about adding it. -Matthew
