heya all...
I'm considering writing a scenario involving Americans against Germans. The scenario would take place in a village, and in the town square is a disabled Sherman (that is out of ammo, so there is no need to figure out any rules for the 75mm gun).
American objective: have the Mechanic get the Sherman moving, and the Sherman then has to get off the board (haven't worked out the details about how to get the Sherman moving)
German objective: prevent the Sherman from going, either because they have destroyed the Sherman, or have killed all the mechanics (again, haven't worked all the details out yet).
the Sherman would have a working .50cal, but it is unloaded, so that a weapon team would have to spend 1 AP to load the gun.
anyway, does this seem to be something that sounds interesting?
Also, if anyone has some good ideas about how to get the Sherman moving, what to test against, things like that, the help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a great idea, sylvas! You can give the Sherman a set Armor and Wound value, making it possible to destroy once and for all. For the defender, simply have the objective require a certain AP total in order to get it working and you can add AP from round to round. We've got a scenario in the occult book that will have roughly the same idea.
I would also suggest making it a more generic scenario rather than specifically American vs. German. Call it a 'medium tank' and have the scenario be available to anyone on any side. You can give the defender's force generic 'tank mechanic' compulsory units (meaning they get them for free) that have simple rifles or SMG's and can spend AP to fix the tank. This way the scenario has more appeal to everyone and the Americans/Soviets can try and stick it to the Germans!
Can't wait to see what you come up with! Great idea!

the only reason I said American and German is because I have access to a 1/48 Sherman tank...other than that, everything else is fairly generic, so the game will be able to be used by everyone...
I was considering adding a compulsory unit so that they could do the fixing and allow the detachment to get to the business of defending the mechanics...upon further review from several of the guys that I play with, they have convinced me to go ahead and do just that...
I was just going to give them the simple rifles (SVT-40, M1 Garands, Kar 98K), just because fighting isn't what they are there for...one of the guys I play with suggested just giving them pistols, since they are considered "non-combatants" that are stuck in the situation, but I don't really like that idea, since there really isn't such thing as non-combatant when you are in the military...

You could even have the german having to get an experimental tank or vehicle that has a new untested abomination in cryo that MUST be retrieved
