One of our (mine and Fattdex's) group has been doing some 15mm scratch build E series tanks for another WW2 system.
This got me thinking, AE maybe should have some E series tanks, well at least the smaller E-25.. Has anybody done any stats for this ?

I haven't seen any home brew tank stats yet, I thnk the concensus so far is to wait and have a look at what they do for the Tumbleweed tank rules in the next book and work off there to build up others.
I'd love to see some cool tankettes like the Renault FT-17.
Actually you know what, The FT-17 would be a shoe-in proxy for a SdKfz 221/1, the Wehrmach captured about 1700 of them and I think used 600 something for patrols. Brigade models have a lovely one I always wanted to own.

I've always thought since I've gotten into this game that it would be interesting to have stats for the Vickers Mark IV light tank variants, since one of them was only armed with twin Vickers HMGs...the armor on this tank was so thin that a pistol shot at close range could penetrate the skin...
at the same time, you could add some of the other light, paper-thin armored tanks like the Italian L3 tankette or the French tankette (the name escapes me at the moment)...

For AEWW2, I think that either and E-5 or and E-10 type of vehicle would probably be all that you want to get right at the moment. Anything bigger than that would probably be to overwhelming for that game as it stands right now

probably...I was thinking only about some of the lighter tankettes from the mid-30s or also some of the German scout cars like the Sd Kfz 221...

Why such light tanks? Why not heavier? Here's a medium tank that was created for a moderately successful playstation game, which was about armored battles in WW2 if the war had gone on for longer: img219.imageshack.us/img219/237/img20185wy.jpg

The rules handle up to the Armored Cars but even then if you dont have anti tank weapons on the other side or a Sturmaffe you basically cant hurt them right now. Its predominantly an issue of balance - the tank rules are due in either the ETO or Middle East rulebook

When it comes to tanks I don't think we should go any heavier than a Tetrarch at this scale of battle. Maybe if rules came out for bigger games that would be a different story, like if say you had two tank detachments on the same side they could have one Sherman or Panzer IV or the like rather than two light tanks. Maybe some of those goofy little winged tanks would be appropriate for AE WWII. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_tankEDIT: 100 posts! Corporal! Now my on line rank matches my real life rank. Hopefully for not much longer if all goes according to plan next month.

European theater of operation? Got it. Kind of the same line as PIC (Pacific Island Campaign).
