Pale is a Grey wash. Something that has not been done for miniature washes yet. Its a cool color. ;D
We should have these in the next 2 months.

I can give you a quick ink/ wash tutorial. Sorry about the 40k pics but that is all I had as an example for the time being. This was a series of WIP shots for a Deathwing Grandmaster that I used many inks and washes on. First step is to pick your base color. For this guy it was all GW colors. Deneb Stone for the armor, Brazen Brass for the gold details, Dwarf Flesh for the skin and Bleached Bone (I think) for the purity seals. After the base is laid down, just paint the wash right over it and it should run into the creases. The colors for the washes were Flesh wash for the skin, Chestnut for the brass and purity seals and Gryphon Sepia (their weird spelling, not mine) for the armor. Afterward you can either go over it again with a lighter color or the same color as the base depending on the look you are going for. The armor got a heavy dry brush of Bleached Bone, the skin was done in Dwarf Flesh again with further highlights of Elf Flesh, the seals were highlighted with Commando Khaki. The brass is left as is due to the fact that the ink makes it look more shiny and gives it more depth. It should be noted that Flesh wash and Chestnut ink are no longer in production but they are basically just different shades of brown. All of the silver metallics were given a black wash to dull them down a bit and give it more of a gun metal look as well as add shadows. This guy has had inks and washes applied to 90% of him at one point or another. The only parts that I didn't use them on are the gray decorative areas, the tabbard, the joints and the red icon (which were all dry brushed to varying degrees.) The finished product:
