I just got home from GenCon09. I played two games of AEWWII and loved it. I purchased a starter box for three factions and the core rules. I am going to work to get some people playing on a regular basis here in Michigan. I need some help from the forums as far as what I should buy next. I would like to run a game or two at a convention this November. I figure four players. I am open to all suggestions. Thanks.

Hi rstauch,
I am in Lake Orion (north Oakland). i just played my first game this weekend too and I love it. If you are in my area, I'd definitely be interested. With work and family commitments, i don't travel far to play anymore. If you are from south of me, i know there is a group playing at RIW sort of regularly.
Which convention are you thinking of in November?

I work in Southfield and live in Lapeer, so I drive through Lake Orion every day. The convention is UCON in November. It is U of M’s gaming convention. I understand the time issue. I am not as pressed with both of my kids in college now. I do get tied up during football season, my son plays and I travel most Saturdays to watch. Let me know what might work for you. Is there a place in Lake Orion we could meet to game? If we had a regular place to meet and ended getting a group together that would be great.

I live in Brownstown, way south of you, and work in Livonia. We play at RIW Hobbies in Livonia (which does stock AE-WWII). We also have a number of players in our club who play and are scattered all over SE MI.

Hi CmdrKiley,
I should have asked if you or any of your crew was at gencon last weekend. I guess I could have inrtroduced myself there.
Btw, I am a good friend and fellow sculptor of Matt Beauchamp of Hydra. I know you and Matt have talked retro sci-fi in the past. You and I just haven't bumped into each other yet.

ah yes! Matt's asked me to teach him to play AE. Unfortunately we haven't had any opportunity to get together recently.
Unfortunately, I wasn't at Gen Con this year. A few members of our club were there. They might have even worn the Mini Art of War T-Shirts. Next time if you ever see someone wearing one, ask them if they know CmdrKiley (inside joke).
