Hi everybody, I've done my first battle this week-end, Russians VS Americans ! It was tough, but we had a lot of fun. The 2 detachments: 1 Politruk 1 Soviet Officer 2 Soviets Guards with Machinegun 1 Telekinetic 2 Psi Commandos 6 Chumans [a href=" "][/a] 1 Officer (upgraded to Elite) 1 Buffalo with M1919 2 Airbornes 1 Sniper 3 Robot Troopers 3 Gi's [a href=" "][/a] A US experimental pilot need rescue in the area of Mourmansk, but the soviets need informations about its plane, and want to take him. An American Platoon will try to be the first. And here's some pics The lone pilot: [a href=" "][/a] The Battlefield: [a href=" "][/a] Gi's in ambush, ready to fire on the chumans ! [a href=" "][/a] Russian offensive [a href=" "][/a] The sniper trys to kill the officers [a href=" "][/a] It's getting hard for the US ! [a href=" "][/a] US Gi's will rout [a href=" "][/a] Capture of the pilot and Soviet Victory ! [a href=" "][/a] After that battle, we notice that: - Sniper is not very valuable, one shot are often not enough to kill an officer. - Suppression Fire is definitely very powerful, you can stop elite units with only 3 robot troopers. - Psi Commandos, maybe the best unit, with "clouded minds" and ppsh41 And now, I'm proud to announce that I have two painted detachments, so I'm gonna apply to the Partisan Program ! Matthew, check your mail box, you'll receive my application in a couple of days ! Enjoy mates !

Looks like quite the battle! Glad to see the Red Army taking the victory One quick note regarding the Soviet detachment: 1 Politruk 1 Soviet Officer 2 Soviets Guards with Machinegun 1 Telekinetic 2 Psi Commandos 6 Chumans You don't have the requisite 3 infantry selections needed to take the support squad with the DP-28 (you have either 1 or 2 depending on the Politruk's classification,I forget if he's inf or specialist). If you were just throwing whatever you wanted out there, that's cool, just wanted to make sure you're aware.

We were playing Experimental detachments, does that mean that I can't have a DP-28 choice ? I thought that in experimental detachment, you can take what you want... Even Support restricted choices

Even Support restricted choices It lifts the restrictions on experimental units (tesla, abomination, psi), such as needing a mad doctor or whatever, as well as any restrictions such as requiring 50% of your selections being infantry, specialist or support. However, other unit-type specific restrictions like occult units or support units remain.

- Sniper is not very valuable, one shot are often not enough to kill an officer. True, it's only one shot, but that's often all it takes. Like, for instance, stopping a vehicle by killing the driver, or knocking out the heavy weapon, or the Mechanic juicing up those robots, etc. Yes! Morale is the name of the game, and getting the opponent to keep their heads down gives you lots of room to maneuver. They are good. Not invulnerable, but very good. Your telekinetic model: is that a Banshee with a headswap?

Your telekinetic model: is that a Banshee with a headswap? Yep, I love that model, you can see the evolution of the quality of the models since the first commando to the soviet banshee. Simply amazing !

I am a huge fan of Snipers. I sometimes run two with one being the Assassin Hero just to be a real pain in the ass. They are well worth taking to fulfill some objectives.

Great Bat Rep. Don't worry, your English is better than many native speakers, especially those who post on the Internet.
