I believe that was the inspiration for the Tumbleweed in the Occult Expansion book.

It sure was. There's alot of weird science stuff from Popular Mechanics that we've been researching.

I sortta figured as much. It is still cool to see the original inspiration to some of the more out-there models. I like when I am running demos and people are like "that is so bizarre, it would never work" and I can say "Oh ho! but it was something they actually tried!" and then look smug at the expressions of amazement.

I still get amazed sometimes by some of the stuff that was at least on the drawing boards during the war. Jetpacks, nightvision, recoilless rifles, jet fighters, assault rifles, even the first MANPAD all saw action during the war, not to mention the first wire-guided missiles, helicopters and the first remote-controlled unmanned vehicles. Just by bringing fringe technologies that really were in use during the war more into the spotlight you can drastically change the look and feel of WWII.
