Three months till GenCon!
Who's planning on going? And what will you be bringing to game with? what are you excited about seeing and doing this year?
I'll start it off:
Yes, I will be there. I'll mainly be helping to run events, hang out in the booth and ogle at the all the cool gaming goodness in the vendor room. If I'm lucky I'll get to catch a few Pulp City events and check out what's new with Malifaux.
For AE-WWII, I'm bringing my Hoodoo OORD Detachment, my SS Occult Hunting Party and my Wehrmacht with the Kugelblitz. Maybe my ROA support beasties with a transport too. But I'll have to see if I can fill it out with some more support nastiness.
For Bounty, I will have a Black Site Survivor Parasite crew, a Pirate Crew and an Apostles of Del'raathi crew.
By the way, I will be happy to loan out minis to people playing in the events as long as people aren't too brutal with them. Plenty of people shared minis at the competitive campaign last year and it worked out great.
I'm stoked about three things at the Con this year (in addition to all of the cool stuff that will be going on with Darkson): the DUST mini game, Voltron from PP and Pulp City Ulthars.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
Cheers,
Chris

I plan on going.
I haven't signed up for any events yet (must remind myself tonight to start doing that).
I do plan on bringing some of my AE-WWII stuff. I'll proabably have to stick with one faction so it will probably be Americans. I could probably bring some terrain and/or vehicles if I can keep it compact. I also plan on bringing some Rezolution and probably Dark Age stuff with me.
Is there any plans for any open gaming after hours? In the past my group has generally setup some games on some unused tables to start playing some late-night Rezolution. We got approached by a number of other people who were curious about the game or had just bought it but wanted someone to demo it. Turns out for the past several years we did that we had a great time.

I'm there all weekend, but am scheduled to run RPG's on all four days. On the upside, the game may end up involving feeding Nazis to dinosaurs, so it's not all bad.
I'm very much looking forward to picking up the Doctor Who and Dresden Files RPGs as well as some phat lewt from DD and Pulp City.

OK, I'm signed up for Fight for a Cause and the Bring and Battle on Thrusday and Friday.
I pre-ordered AE-Bounty and a starter set, so should I spend time assembling them for Gen Con?

Bring all your Bounty minis for pick up games and the campaign. We have a neat event in the works for Bounty too. The campaign packet will include some neat background on the Bounty universe and some fun new scenarios too.

I will be going this year, I have signed up for secret weapons. I will be using my American force for this one. A friend of mine will also be playing in this one and he will be using my German force.
My non-AE events are going to be a Malifaux and Infinity tournaments, a couple of speed painting contests, and a mass battle Wings of War ( I really hope they can actually get 64 people for this one).

(Could have sworn I replied here a while back...)
I'll totally be at the con, helping out at the booth. The only two events I am signed up for are the Secret Wars (bringing my SS) and the Pulp City Ulthar Invasion. It's my first Gencon, so I wanted some time to see the sights.
Now, to spend the next three months painting...

I will be there again this year, though it's going to be a littletight for me financially this year. Plane tickets seems to go up $100 a year, and the sheapest flight I found is just over $700.
I will be doing HellDorado Intro games upstairs in the TTG area, as well as running the tournament on Saturday afternoon.
I'll also be helping out with the AE-WWII and AE-Bounty events. Almost finished reding though the Bounty book. Now I just need some minis.
I will be bringing along my SD Germans, and if I have my Americans by then they will be coming along for the ride.
I will also have extra Hell Dorado armies with me. I'll probably alos bring along my Uncharted Seas and or Firestorm Armada, some Anima Tactics models to try out the game, and maybe even my Warhammer Fantasy Chaos Dwarfs.

For those of us who aren't going (being a long way and all!), could we have a taste of the Bounty campaign/scenario stuff? Please?

For those of us who aren't going (being a long way and all!), could we have a taste of the Bounty campaign/scenario stuff? Please? Yes. Absolutely. The campaign documents for Bounty and AE-WWII are going up soon. The one for Bounty will include a significant amount of background. The one for AE-WWII will be a surprise, I think. The playtesters are reviewing the rules for both campaigns now. Once they and the Boss have given the OK, everyone on the board will get to see them. As a teaser, here's what I can tell you guys right now. Awhile ago someone asked about a "wild west" style shootout scenario for AE Bounty. The GenCon campaign scenarios for Bounty include a shootout with a new game mechanic we're trying out as the last game in the mini-campaign. There is a map in the back of the Bounty book, with an inset that describes where the core systems of the Bounty universe are in relation to different political interests. The actions in the GenCon campaign take place in the San Jacinto Compact and the background of the beings that live there is central to the campaign. The Bounty campaign will point to some of the details in coming Bounty expansions. Also, a slow step in playing at the GenCon campaign last year was the double detachment selection and figuring out which scenario each side played next. I still really like that idea, but the current environment at GenCon is too time limited to do it anymore. So the campaigns for both Bounty and AE-WWII have been replaced with mini-campaigns in the form of linked scenarios. Winning or losing in a scenario directly effects the next scenario, so players will gain benefits and disadvantages based on how they do. For example, losing in a scenario may result in a player having to deploy using the "scattered rules" in the following scenario. More later! Rob has a lot of plans to share with you guys. Bear with us a little while longer while we finish the playtesting and review of the game documents. I promise it will be worth the wait to have stuff that is fun to play and further develops the background. Cheers, Chris

It just so happens that my wife and I planned a road trip driving through that area at the right time so Gencon for me. Woo! I will be there at least one day, maybe I can beg and plead for two. I will be bringing everything, including Wehrmacht, SD, Americans, Russian Vets, and to top it all off, a Brit detachment that I am putting together now. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

After a period of uncertainty as to my attendance, it looks like I and whatever remains of my internal organs will in fact be there!
I'll have Brits and Soviets for myself, and Germans and Americans I can lend as needed.
Looking forward to all the shiny new toys and seeing some good friends.

Way to go! Suck it up! ;D I attended my second Gen Con a week after a hernia surgery, and was walking around with a second hernia that they missed. Seriously though, take it easy and don't push yourself. I was lucky enough that all the guys were carrying my luggage and all my gaming stuff to and from the hotel for me. However I ended up cancelling out a number of events because I was either in a lot of pain or really numbed out from the pain meds. I spent quite a bit of time watching the other guys stuff for them while I relaxed. So don't go alone, travel lightly and keep your schedule flexible.
