Sorry, I don't have the Occult rules book yet. I was wondering whether anyone can tell me whether this is a light or medium tank?

The tumbleweed is a light tank. But in the next OTW we will be sharing more light and medium tanks. And in the next AE-WWII expansion, we'll be introducing heavy tanks ;D

Thanks! I'm placing an order soon for some miniatures (and the Occult rule book), so just want to plan out detachments ahead of time as best I can (between the Core rulebook PDF I got from Wargame Vault and OTW 11).

OTW #16 is going to be the big tanks issue. It will help with your planning your detachment purchases.
Last time I checked it was 30 pages or so. Everything tanks will be in it. That way players will have a shot at reviewing the rules before GenCon.

So after much reading and playing I have to ask... why bother with the Tumbleweed? Many of the other light tanks in the book have A) Better Guns, B) More options piggy back etc.. C) Better armor
So why would I take a Tumbleweed? (Other than the fact that I just LOVE the model so rules be damned) Just wondering what it can do that other tanks can't or won't?

Well it's much more of an anti-infantry vehicle than most other tanks. With 3 LMGs that's a lot of bullets flying.
Currently it's the only vehicle you can mount a flame thrower on and since it's already a Tesla unit you can swap out a gun for a Tesla Cannon too.
It's also the only American tank with Sloped Armor.
