Greetings! I have a question/request from someone who has zero experience playing AE-WWII. Please allow me to explain: I have a good friend of mine who plays the game. His birthday is coming up, so I decided to make him a custom miniature as a gift that wasn't one of the regular units. I've created what I call a German Dire Barghest. From the top of the base to the top of his ears, he is about 30mm (hence the Dire description). I wanted to give him some suggested stats to go with the figure, but since I don't play, I have no idea what to do! I've put together the following based on the quickstart rules, but I've no idea how balanced these stats are: M: 8 RC: - CC: 5 A: 2 S: 5 DR: 6 W: 3 Would any of the more experienced players like to play test these stats for me, suggest different ones, or give any other advice? Any help would be most appreciated. I've attached a picture of the finished miniature for reference. Thank you! Attachments:

I'm not sure what a Dire Barghest would do. How do you envision it operating on the battlefield?
(Right off the bat, though, I'd drop the Move to 4, the CC to 4, and the Drive to 5 or 4.)

Scorpio,
I had this unit set up as a kind of one-off hero unit in my mind. Since this particular miniature is one-of-a-kind, I don't see herds of them running across the battlefield. Of course, only having one physical miniature wouldn't stop people from playing the stats, I know, but I'm running on that assumption.
As background, a barghest is often described as a large monstrous black dog, mostly centered in England. However, the British forces didn't seem as dark-focused supernaturally centered as the German ones (e.g., the werewolf unit), so the creature was appropriated to that side.
From a simulation standpoint, I'd see the Dire Barghest being a swift hitting terror unit. Not a lot of armor and zero ranged weapons, but can make contact with the enemy very swiftly. I pulled the 8 move from the stats by comparing the creature to a man. I would think the four-legged supernatural barghest would cover at least twice the distance in the same amount of time as an unaltered human.
In actual play, having something of those stats running around on a numbers-balanced field would be unfair. Yet, it might have some interesting implications for either a numbers-unbalanced field (say, 6 German units versus 12 American ones), or as a campaign boss.
Thanks for the questions/suggestions!
P.S. Hopefully the player that this is for isn't on this forum, but my ultimate deadline is the 6th of November.

What army does your friend play? I've read up on the Wikipedias on the Barghest legends, so, big scary dog! And then some.
Dire Barghest Regular Supernatural unit M: 5 RC: - CC: 4 A: 3 S: 4 DR: 4 W: 2
Sure-Footed [it isn't slowed down by rough terrain]
Unnatural Presence (6) [units within 6" get -1 temp. Drive, because it's clearly some supernatural monster.]
Frightening [units in close combat get a -1 temp. Drive, because it's even scarier when it's trying to eat your face.]
And I have a couple other ideas, based on which army your buddy has.

How 'bout you just get your birthday present early, then, buster? Now that I've gone and spoiled it by trying to have a complete gift for you... So, which army *do* you play, now that you've asked the question?
*crosses arms, then harrumphs* *quietly and with much irksomeness at self* Damn it.

Ahahahaha
The best part is, I honestly had *no idea.* Seriously, I thought crasspanama looked familiar, but couldn't figure out why.
