One of my friends has started up his own, very small press comic imprint and his first issue might be of some interest around here. Centering on a family of Canadian superheroes, The Leaf #1 deals with the Golden Age Leaf during WWII and has back-up stories featuring other Commonwealth heroes from the British superteam The Imperials. Zombies, werewolves, weird-science and super-spies all feature in this first batch of stories. A certain desert rat who frequents these forums may or may not have scripted a few of them too. It's nice to see John get this out. I know he has been working on this project for a while now.

Yes, and he's sinking his own money into it for art, so it's very much his baby. I'm hoping that he does well.

Maybe he should try the indie money bomb strategy to get some cash flow? Just like they did with the "machine of death" anthology. I bought that book because i liked the artists and authors in it, but I bought it when I bought it because of the goal to try and make a small indie pub #1 on Amazon for a day. If you lay the ground work and spread the word, it can be done.
