The cutter unit looks pretty good as do the Hired guns, for the second unit of hired guns I can only heartedly recommend a unit with LRFs and maybe articulated weapon harnesses for laying down suppressive fire and keeping mobile, with 4x3 shots they can be sure of suppressing at least two units a turn, sometimes more if they're in range. So here's the final verdict on my last Hired Guns unit. I was very tempted to take the Personal Transporters. But given the terrain and maps it really doesn't seem to fit. The Humans with Hunter X will have a solid attack and defense boost. It will be very interesting to see where this list takes me. Now comes the fun part of naming them and picking the corresponding models! That is if this unit is up to snuff.
Hired Guns Race: Humans
M3 RC 4+ CC3 A3 S3 DR3 W1 Abilities: Hunter X, Move and Shoot

I've using Infinity and Ikore models for my team so far. I'll post some pics when I have more time. Currently, I'm using the VASA Suppressors for my Fresh Meath and some Viridian troops for my Hired guns Humans. For the Sniper I'm using an Infinity Shrouded Sniper with a Multi-Sniper Gun.

I'd say if you're at 1+, you hit on a 2-6 even if under a -1 penalty for range (or something else). Sorry, I haven't found the post in question again.

To put it a little differently, a roll of 1 means you've missed, no matter what your RC stat is. At RC 1+, at range (-1 to RC) you'll still only need a 2+ to hit. Do you think it's possible to go under 0+? (And how would that be written? -1+?)

@ gnomesofzurich - I'm glad you caught this. I was going with the 'anything but a 1' and it's a hit. To be honest I'm torn - if I went with a human Sniper his stats I think would be better overall. Do you think I'm being redundant using a Pollux? I mean if his - 1 RC doesn't make that big a difference and his night vision is already redundant with the cyberntic eyes is he worth keeping or swapping out for a human with Sniper X?
@ Cilionelle - you raise a really interesting point: should there be a set of rules or stats for when things compleltely go off the scale? I mean it's bound to happen at some point.

lol vexx. Save those stats that go "beyond" for an expansion! I say alien sized monsters and giant robots!

I hope so rumor has it I'm getting an Infinity for Avatar. I'm not a fan of their game at all but I do love their minis! So a giant robot, monster, space ship, mecha, mutants books would be slick.

As to the list, I think your Drive is going to be your downfall. DR 3 is pitiful. I'm bringing the HRFs and LRFs and Suppressing the snot out of this list if ever I see it. Three units out (Hired Guns and Fresh Meat, I'm looking at you!) and all your units are in Rout, including your precious sniper...

That's why I took my sniper as a regular choice and took a vet sergeant. Duncan

I'm glad you mentioned this. Originally, I had a Vet Sergeant on my list and then I underestimated the importance of Drive. I'm going to re-jig my list to have a Vet sergeant and drop one of my hired guns. I'll end up with Cutters, Vet Sarge, Sniper, 1X Hired Guns and Fresh Meat. I'll have to see where it takes me.

Once you get something set, play it on the field. That will get you more experience on what works best and what doesn't.

Well tomorrow is AE Bounty night at my house. We will have terrain and possibly some three way matches. It will be interesting to see what happens.
I switched over to having a Veteran Sergeant - with Particle Beam Rifle with a Beam Booster and Cybernetic eyes. I've also made him inspiring with the Human Racial bonus.
Question: What do you equip your Sniper with? Is it better to have longer range or more shots? I've also gotten into a debate regarding more dangerous weapons vs the ability to keep your sniper alive longer?
any thoughts?

That's a hard on, Vexx. Essentially, that depends on your opponent and where he is going to have his focus as well as what you picked that game.
Usually, for me, it's a theme or idea for a crew mostly. Not just any one idea per se.
