I plan on starting up some time during January. One of the main reasons is my mates told the game can be played with few models (so I might actually get something painted) and AE-Bounty itself suggest to use alternative models, which is sweet since I have a large collection of (unpainted) models. So, how do the rules work with space predators, space orcs, space dwarves, victoria era adventures and soldiers and whatnot? In this case I think more of getting into the game than powerplaying. It will be easy for me to remember what the models are counting as, but my opponents might be confused, which I see as an unfair advantage. Perhaps the rules have already taken this into account, if so I'd like to hear how - it can be as simple as making all lesser races classes as xenos, or having the rule for hunter cover whatever official specie and player made specie the owning player writes. I am just curious as I am trawling my collection and would like to hear if there is some things that have to be left out at this stage. Thanks. Oh yes, and first post

Welcome to the forums, waaargh!
In Bounty, you can play with a two man crew and with a large crew of 12 or more guys, depending on what you want.
You choose the crew size, then add or delete "slots" for models to join the crew depending on what you are planning.
After that, you choose your faction- Mercs, Pirates, or Bounty Hunters. Each faction gives you a class to fill for each slot. After choosing your classes and getting a starting stat line, you choose a race for each "slot/class."
So, whatever race you choose to fill your crew, you can model on the board as a "counts as" type of thing.
In addition, at that point, you then choose your weapons, equipment, etc, based upon the slot or role, that your model filled in the crew building process.
That means if you have an awesome looking fig, such as a space Dwarf, I'd use him as 'human' or another race but carrying a weapon that approximates the one you chose in the building process.
If you look at some of the crew examples here on the forums, it's not hard to see that others have used "counts as" models either.
Good luck, and let us know how your first crew building exercise goes!

Welcome to Bounty
Overall the game is pretty customizable to fit what models you wish.
Right now everyone is choosing a template of an existing Bounty species that best matches the species of the models they wish to use.
There's lots of plans for Bounty expansions going on right now. I posted some ideas to go beyond that, but they are currently under consideration.

Thanks for the welcome.
So it'll fit together pretty easily? I'll go on with the seaching, gluing and painting then.

As long as you are clear with your opponent at the start and throughout the game what models have which rules I think you will be fine.
I am currently using a crew of old war surplus Robots and using the Graffi racial template as +1A fits well for the metal guys and gals.
Also in one of my crews I have a powerful human psychic user, so rather than using the human template then Mentalist hero type, I have used Logician racial template with the Master Mentalist hero type to represent her overwhelming powers. I might do the same if I were to try to replicate Jedi in the Bounty rules.

Good to see you here! (you weren't at Horizont, were you?) One of the things with bounty is that the scenario system makes it quite hard to powergame (which we seem to make a big fuss of in Denmark, tournament play has dominated far too much), so what works one game, might not in another, this makes the narrative angle even more interesting. It's a very robust system that seems to be able to take quite a bit of abuse. Duncan (hvor er smørum? Du er altid velkom at kom forbi Vejle og prøve det, hvis du har lyst)

I wasn't at Horizont, no. Smørum is close to Copenhagen, and neighbor to Ballerup.

Ah, ok. Are you going to the little (?) campaign weekend Sonny is talking about? You're still very welcome over to solid land! Duncan
