some weapons should be used that are 'real'. for egxample the ak-47 kalasnikov rifle would fit in nicely.

The German pack comes with a historical weapon. Check out the pack contents. And yes we will be using other real weapons.

No, no, no - this is not a real weapons if we talk about same German pack. I know what Robert Kingery have a lots of pictures of experemental russian and german weapons I`we send it to him a long time ago. A prototypes of Kalashnikov looking enough terrible for alternative WWII.

Just a thought...one could combine elements from 'historical' WWII weapons with more modern concepts....for example the Russians could have AK-47 type rifles with little 'historical' details like the stock and drum magazine from the PPSh to anchor the 'image' to WWII without being just a standard WWII miniature. I think that could be a nice touch.

M1 garand, M1 carbine, BAR, thompson...
...and then in the future there will be special weapons like a bazooka, flame thrower, mortar teams, etc...

The russian sub machine gun with the drum mag is indeed based on the ppsh.
