And now to fix the previous issue text to clear up the details on the kaminksi brigade detachment selection and firm up the beast rules and rampage campaign for issue 20... It's a good time to be a game designer

OK, for some reason I don't understand, the ZynVaded ad renders some of the text as big blanks in iPhone PDF viewers. Here is the add in case you're trying to see everything using an iDevice. Check out ZynVaded, it's a cool game and John Vogel (big guy at We Have Issues publishing) is the guy who has been doing all the great art for OTW. Cheers, Chris Attachments:

It's great to have the next issue of OtW! One quick comment: one instance of the Kazak Uryandnik in the table of base sizes on page 6 is in error. The first instance (the Russian one) is correct, with a base of 40 mm; the ROA one lists 30 mm though. In a quick read through, that was the only error I found. Good job guys!

Yay... I've been a part of this game for less than two months and already featured in an issue of OTW I'll go back and edit my question to add the asterix to the british rifle name, since I forgot it earlier.

Really nice content. The new faction for AE Bounty is very nice. I'm a bit worried about the ability explosion. 5-7 abilities per model seems like a lot when you add race and hero abilities you could easily have 12 abilities for one model. That's a lot of rules to memorize. Suppose I should try it before complaining too much though :-)

A fantastic issue! I'm loving the Del Rathi list and the options it gives. With the spate of Star Wars fever over on Lead Adventure forum, I can see more players being interested in AE Bounty now.
Though I have a few questions from the Del'Rathi list: *what does 'Every man counts' mean under the entry for Apostle Novices, Apostle Brothers, amongst others? *How do you double upgrade a model to be an Apostate Master? I'm guessing by using two hero slots? *When a Hero is upgraded to an Apostate or Initiate, and gets the 'paired weapons' rules, how can they use it? All entries allow for just one melee weapon, and the hero entry says they only get an extra melee weapon 'if they didn't already have one'. Duncan

'Every man counts' is a rule you'll find in AE:WWII. It simply means that a casualty with this special rule counts double for attrition rates.

That's a lot of rules to memorize. Suppose I should try it before complaining too much though :-) Many of the abilities are background details so it works fairly well in play. You're right that more rules would get cumbersome. That's why with some of the newer factions, we'll be limiting what further upgrades they can get. Or else that would be ridiculous. In general, the most I want to see for a unit is 6 special abilities. Anymore and it gets frustrating and takes too long.

All entries allow for just one melee weapon, and the hero entry says they only get an extra melee weapon 'if they didn't already have one'. Duncan Let me answer those questions for you Duncan: No hero slots necessary to become an apostate master. Just choose the apostate hero choice and decide to upgrade the model to a master. However, you gain some pretty harsh limitations with that, so be careful with it. Observer and Vain can be killers at the right moment. About the paired weapons. If they already have a melee weapon choice, they get an additional choice. If they have 2 melee weapons, they can use them both per the paired weapons rules. If they have no melee weapons initially, they get one. Let me know if those answers help. If not, I'll be happy to post something to clarify the rules. And yes, you can definitely play these guys as not-Jedi, but they are fairly different. The role models for them came from old school sci-fi with a dash of shaolin monk and Jesuit priest thrown in. They are secular warrior monks, but they're still zealots, the kind you don't realize how crazy they are until you listen to them talk awhile and think about what they said. Until then they seemed so nice... Their response to the Union sacrificing their order for the greater good is to assassinate all of those responsible and then firmly insert themselves into politics so that it doesn't happen again. Kind of makes the apostates seem not so bad. But, you don't have to include any of those details in your games if you don't want to. That's the fun part of bounty. The background is there if you want it. Otherwise, it's just a fast paced and flexible sci-fi mini game. Cheers, Chris

Thanks for the kind words. We're really trying to give you guys more value for your involvement in the game. More ways to play, more stuff to read, more ways to use the minis. OTW is going to be interesting this year.
Feel free to give us critiques too. We want to get better and produce the best game mag we can for you guys.
If something in a story or a concept inspires you, get in touch and we'll see about putting it in an issue.
