I'm playing with some ideas for an SS Detachment. But I want to see what you guys have been using in your games and what you would use vs not use.
So fire away and let's see som SS Detachments.
Cheers, Robert

Hmmm....I've seen some scary SS Detachments using lots of werewolves or lots of SS Death Knights.
I've faced the werewolf ones before, just needed to make sure I had the Molotov thingytail SO on hand and everyone within 6" of each other.
The SS Cavalry thing I've only seen on paper and it looked pretty scary.

How many SS Knights did it use?

I think it was something like this:
German Waffen SS Occult Detachment
1 Elite Schutzkommando SS - Mounted Hero with Rod of Command (or Talisman) and Tuetonic Blade 1 Veteran Vril Engineer w. Vril Runes Sig and Tyr 3 Regular SS Knight units 1 Regular SS Untersturmfurher or 1 Regular SS Heavy Weapons team.
Special Order: Coordinated Attack
A total of 9-10 models and 7 of them are on horseback! Also 1 MP40 and a whole lot of StG45s. Definitely an in-your-face detachment with the only drawback I see is the Vril Engineer lacking enough movement to keep up with upgrading any units. However he could sit back and upgrade the heavy weapons team if need be.
Watching a cavalry heavy ROA unit in action I can see this would be tough. Even tougher knowing that these guys have better armor, Impervious, and higher ROF weapons.

I've played against some heavy werewolf detachments. Won a few, lost a few. Once I knew how to take advantage of the werewolf's weakness (fire) I was winning against that detachment almost every time I played.
German Waffen SS Occult Detachment
1 Elite Schutzkommando SS with Vril Armor and Talisman 1 Veteran Kreighexen with Gremlin 3 Regular Werewolves 1 Regular SS Untersturmfurher or 1 Regular SS Heavy Weapons team.
or
1 Elite Kreighexe with Gremlin and Blur 1 Veteran Schutzkommando SS with Vril Armor 4 Regular Werewolves
These look scary as hell when reading the detachment and watching them charge out of Hidden Deployment but if you know what you're up against then equipping your troops with flame throwers, a Chaplain and the Molotov thingytails SO is an excellent counter. If the werewolf fails it's CC attack on it's charge and there's enough models within range to throw molotov thingytails on it then it's pretty much toast.
One time a werewolf charged out of the woods and attacked my ARPA Field Mechanic. She fended off his attack with her monkey wrench and even scored a wound (using Snap-On's silver plated spanner). To make things even more humiliating for the spurned werewolf, her boyfriend doused him with vodka and set him on fire.

Ok I am digging on the calvaery detachment. 6 SS Knights is just plain wicked.
How about any Hell Host/Hound detachment's? With the release of both figures we might just be seeing a few of these types of lists.

Not that many models and the One Man Army is not really amazing when you look at the alternatives, but good fun. Elite: Schutzkommando SS (Djinni's Bottle, Rune Dagger, Totenkopfring der SS) Veteran: Krieghexe (Gremlin spell, Second Sight spell) Veteran: Waffen SS Untersturmführer (Hero: One Man Army) (Regular: Captive Djinni) Regular: Werewolf Regular: Werewolf Regular: Waffen SS (2) Regular: Waffen SS (2) Special Order: Keep Moving
