OK, I'm really crossing my fingers on this one because this is one of my favorite Marvel superheroes and this time they're going to finally do it solidly based in WWII. Also seems like they're taking some of the visual ques from the Ultimates universe Cap, which I really love. So I'm really hoping they don't screw this up. Visually everything I've seen looks uber-cool. Now looking at the Red Skull I must say I am again very impressed. I've always said what makes a good superhero movie is a great supervillian and Hugo Weaving can certainly pull that off and looking at him in costume I have no doubt he's going to be an awesome villian.

I'm a huge Cap fan but I think this is going to be a disappointment. Just from what I have gleaned from the net is that HYDRA is the bad guys and not the Nazis. What is that all about! You can't get any worse the the Ratzis! I think a war movie with Cap in it would be a better flick then a superhero movie set in WWII. HYDRA wasn't even in the ETO during WWII and Skull never took it over until the 60s, that was Strucker's crew. I think Cap with a squad of Dog Faced GIs in the frozen Hell of Belgium would make for a better flick to set the stage for his character. Make Schmidt the hook but make Cap a soldier not a superhero in the story.
Just a geek who sees it a different way, Brian

Leave it all at the door and just go in with an open mind and enjoy the Cap.
To many times the movie will never reach our expatiation's because we want more than anyone can deliver.
