Karmans: A spacefaring gorilla race who only fight to keep the power balance in the universe. Mostly seen in armored suits. Naturally strong and capable of carrying great firepower. Few in numbers. Karmans:+1S, -1CC, Free choice of armored suit (light, medium, heavy)

I think I'd prefer them with Walking Fire instead of the free armoured suit, but then again I know nothing of the fluff Duncan

What about making them slow and drop the free armor, this way most will give them a heavy armor thus fitting the look.
So what about this: Slow, +1M, +2S, -1CC

Sorry Kasper but that is very overpowered. Slow is cancelled out by a heavy armor, so only -1 CC is a real negatrait. For that you get +1M and +2S. That is much better than any existing race.

Slow is also a huge negatrait, it is only by putting on a heavy suit they even out that problem. Maybe instead they have a trait where they can ignore the -1m from a heavy suit instead of a plain +1m .. hmm I think I like that even more.
Also I am unsure about the rest of the stats really, but they should really have slow + ignore reduced move from armor. +1 or +2 S seems fitting since they are friggin gorillas, so they really just need a fitting negative to balance the S bonus ... I don't really thing CC is the place to have it.

You are right about the -1CC. It doesn't really fit.
Slow and +2S fit nicely with the theme. None of the other stats should change up or down.
The "how to give them armor but not -1M" problem can be solved by forcing Light Armor on them. It gives them the thematic armor but prevents them from nullifying the "slow" attribute and they retain their movement. For a final thematic negatrait I've given them Karmic Warrior as described below. It's a bit like Feral only worse because it kicks in every time. ------------- Karmans: Slow, +2S, Light Armored Suit, Karmic Warrior
Karmic warrior: Model must contemplate the fate of all things after killing an opponent (spend 1AP doing nothing after a kill by this model) ----------- So what is their natural role with this statline? Well let's see:
melee: No charge bonus and limited range unless veteran makes them just ok in CC even with S5. Once locked in combat S5 is nice though. A4 gives them a little extra staying power. Karmic Warrior is mostly a problem when you get up close to the enemy (and want to duck away after killing something)
sniper: No RC bonuses makes them mediocre snipers. A4 is nice though. weapon harness is a must.
Heavy: They make a mean Duster (S5) with a cumbersome HRF weapon and rapid reloader. Other heavy units are viable too though.
Leader: Nothing special going for them here.
Psychic: Nothing special going for them here.
So they are most likely to be seen as Heavies with melee as an optional use.
