One of the additions to the game we're looking forward to sharing with you are the additional campaign rules.
In both the convict league and the gladiator league, the options to really manage a team and make decisions about how to grow them is something we hope you enjoy as a fun addition to the game.
You'll have to worry about feeding your beasts, bribing the refs, maintaining equipment, paying for extra training, and of course, upgrading your gear.
Let us know if there are any options that you think might be fun in a campaign.
Cheers,
The Darkson Designs Crew

Career paths would be fun. Giving certain choices to brutes and other choices to nimble fighters etc.
Randomizing new skills may be best as it generates more variety instead of players always picking the best options.

Co-op options would be awesome too... Playing against beasts with a crew/gladiator team each. Rules for making that work would be great. Almost like AE: Castle Ravenloft.

We'll see about the co-op mode. It might be that the initial offering has several scenarios and then with testing in the community, we develop a co-op mode that feels right and plays fun. Right now, the options available for arena scenarios are: Crew + Beast vs. Crew + Beast Crew vs. Crew Beast vs. Beast Crew vs. Beast

Ah, you've hit the nail on the head there! Do you allow for personal choice, or do you randomize it so that things are more fair? Why not both? There are currently four different training paths for the dojo, each with six skills. Feel free to randomly determine the skills, or choose what you want ;D

a couple off the top of the head options;
-some form of "roar of the crowd" mechanic that might encourage glam moves as opposed to simply doing the business and systematically wiping out he opposition?
-advertising endorsements off the field where the coach would produce the banner art for the ad campaign- a possible nice shoes/ energy drink unlock for the featured player for a game? Part of a random event system so coaches couldn't alwaysjack their pet player?

The roar of the crowd concept might already be in there... As for the ads idea, that's neat. Maybe more appropriate in convict league though. -Chris

The endorsements idea is brilliant...
Announcer: "Tonight's battle is brought to you by Arges Arms - because what you really need is a bigger gun! - and Bolt Energy Drinks - ten times the energy because the can is ten times as big!"

Have any of you played Circus Imperium? It's chariot racing but with Grav chariots and frenzied beasts. You pull "whipping" cards and they crowd cheers you on further along or you slide out towards the wall. Might be something in here like that. Chris is the "keeper of secrets" though.
