I recently used a master mentalist with mind control. It appears that this power can be really abusive.
Firstly, the suicide action of the target is already a very (too ?) powerfull possibility. Just 1 dice roll will decide your fate, no matter if you still have 5 Wounds.
But my problem is here : "models that have already been activated this turn can still be subject to this ability". It means that you can activated again and again the same model in the same turn.
In an average situation, a Veteran Master Mentalist will then be able to activate 3 times a regular model, this model will then spend 8 AP in 1 turn (6 under control + 2 normal). 8AP use for 5 normaly spend, rather nice but still acceptable...
An extreme situation will see a Elite Master Mentalist use mind control against an Elite model and then this model will spend... 20 AP (4x4 + 4) in 1 turn ! Now it is 20AP spend for the use of 8AP... Use a keep-moving trick and you can even reach a total of 36 AP... on 1 single model in 1 single turn.
Now lets go farther, cross the streams and open a breach in the space-time continium : Elite Master Mentalist A use 1 AP to mind control Elite Mater Mentalist B. He then get 4AP to use on B. B use 1 AP to... mind control A. He then get 4AP on A (while in fact he do it under control of A). A spend 1 AP (the first on a new row of 4 !) to... mind control B of course ! We can then create an infinite loop. Do it a few times and you will have plenty of AP to spend for A and B until you go back on... the 2nd AP of A basic activation...
Of course I consider here that the target always failed their DR test while master mentalist will often have a rather high DR. But even with a DR of 4, I think you can create a really large loop with a bit of luck.
So I'm wonderning if we shouldn't limit it ? Exemple, a model could only be mind controled once per turn. Or even only be activated once per turn.
