Hi,
I am packing for the trip to Indianapolis right now! But before I pack everything up, I'd like to share with the forum some news about what we'll be doing at GenCon this year.
We will be running two events this year:
AE-WWII, Fight for a Cause Charity Event: Friday, 10 AM to 12 Noon, The War Store Gaming Area (Hall G).
AE-WWII, Tournament: Friday, 2 PM to 6 PM, The War Store Gaming Area (Hall G).
There will be prizes for first place and best painted in each event.
For the charity event, we are once again supporting the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund (http://www.fallenheroesfund.org/). Last year we raised close to 300$ in donations for the fund. That money goes to help the families of soldiers dealing with depression, brain injuries and post-traumatic stress syndrome. This is a great cause. Please come out and support it. More details on how the event will be run are in a post below.
For the tournament, we are running a three scenario, non-linked campaign. Bring your best single detachment. There is no side board. All OTW rules, except for the Super Heroes options, are allowed. Players will be randomly paired each round. The scenarios will be standard missions from the AE-WWII core rule book. With perhaps a twist or two... ;D
I'll have the new miniatures with me so you can see what the new Japanese figures look like next to the rest of the miniature line. Remember, those guys are up in the webstore, and more to come soon.
Lastly, I need to tell you guys that we will not be running an AE-Bounty tournament at GenCon. It's a matter of logistics more than people signed up for the event. There's only one of me to go around this time.
I hope I get to see some of you in Indy this year. Feel free to come by the events and say hi if you're at the Con.
Cheers,
Chris
