Any Sci-Fi movie or book would do for inspiration... Depends as much on your taste, as it does on the movie/book you collect inspiration from as well as your imagination.

It all depends on the flavor of scifi you want. The pulpier, older material is much harder to find, but can be pretty entertaining. One of the reasons I picked up Osprey's Tomorrow's War rules was the novel series Starfist, which is Marines in the future written by nonactive (aka retired) marines. If you can find them, David Drake's Hammers Slammers is another really good series, though since its another one written by a combat veteran it can be quite sad. If you can put up with its quirks John Ringo's Polseen Invasion has some good tech in it.
Dont forget anime like Appleseed and Ghost in the Shell or JinRoh
