I have to say, when it comes to A American standard long arm for the War that never was…I have to say I love the Darkson carbine. It is exactly what I would imagine becoming a standard weapon.
Sure the army would probably go to a clip feed grand first, but I imagine it going the way of the M-14 and being replaced by the “M4 Carbine” a M1/M2 on steroids. In my mind I see it chambered for a intermediate round ( hmmmm lets say 5.56 for arguments sake) with a more robust action…and I think the Darkson carbine looks perfect, It sort of looks like a mini-14…as it should. Now thinking about a LMG, and thought a belt feed version of the Johnson LMG would look cool.

Glad you like it. We have a few more weapons that are made for AE that you will see trickle down the pipe.

Since the game is more sci-fi pulp then historical some interesting guns like the Reising smg or the Johnson rifle has a lot of potential - though I personally think that the Darkson Grease Gun is fine as is.
BTW - Italy did some work with the clip fed Garand - its the BM 59 - only difference with garand is a 20 round clip and it fires .308
