i was thinking how cool it would be to have a reworked ak-47 and so made this idea......enjoy ;D ;D i thought of the idea that you can 'upgrade' your troops to have AK-49. so there guns become....like 2 shoots or higher strenght, longer distence.

Hmm if I remember correctly AE-WWII is taking place in 1946, so maybe Mikhail Kalashnikov invented the gun a few years before the original 1947, note that the original AK-47 was based on German assaultrifles and since the tech levels are higher in our little universe it might be very possible that Kalashnikov learned from the Germans in an earlier timeperiod thus enabling him to develop an AK-44 or AK-45. On the design, I suggest you keep it as simple as possible, the standard AK47 is probably one of the more basic rifles there is, maybe this design is slightly more powerful or even more userfriendly.

mmmm.... maybe i was a step ahead of my self but... i was thinking that this was like a prototype. Kalashnikov made a few prototypes before the '47' that we love and know. The '49' was one of those prototypes, 52 were made for his commanders on the battlefield but now only 9 remain in Russian hands, then Kalashnikov made a much more easier type to mas preduse.....the AK-47 was born

True, but the number is the year the thing was designed, at least that was the case with the AK-47 and AK-74.

First off: Welcome to the forum! Secondly: I love your idea of bringing the ak-47(49) into AE-WWII. I can imagining that with the war going on into 1946, the Russians would put extra pressure on their weapon scientists, so that the ak could be developed a few years before time. It would be used by the special forces and red guard units, being quite a powerful weapon for its time, and give the red army an edge against the Germans. Also, love the picture you made

Welcome to the forum.
This is a cool concept. One thing we will be doing is lots of free support on the main web site. We will be adding other weapon lists that will be usable in the game as well as new Hero types and new troop types after the book is released.

In the Intro on the main page it mentions 'Russian youths equipped with new AK-46 assault rifles...' So I guess that this idea of AK-44s, AK-45s, AK-47s and AK-49s might be a bit obsolete.

In the Intro on the main page it mentions 'Russian youths equipped with new AK-46 assault rifles...' So I guess that this idea of AK-44s, AK-45s, AK-47s and AK-49s might be a bit obsolete. Why? I mean today in the real world we have AK-47s, AK-74, AK-101 etc. Its very possible that in the AE-WWII universe the Soviets started producing the AK in 1955, so there would be the AK-44 and there would have been improvements/variations made on that gun. So it would be very possible with the Soviet logistics that there are soldiers out there who are fighting with AK-44s and other types of the AK. It isnt possible to replace all the guns on the fronts every year, especially not in the Soviet Union.
