Update:
We will be doing some thing close to these. The Wolf Jaeger is a crew less remote controlled robot. This would be very fun to play with. Maybe a pack of one controller and two Wolf Jaeger's. The could be a sort of walking heavy support team.
The other photo would work well for cold weather troops. Maybe "Polar Warfare" troops or other cold fronts like Greenland, Finland, Poland. Their would be many uses for this style of troop.

Sounds cool, but I don't like the idea of it being a robot. A bit too sci-fi for my tastes, but hey you're the boss.
I thought mechs in this game were gonna be like vertical tanks, crew and all. It helps keep the game stick to the "primitive" ww2 feel as a core, instead of generic sci-fi with a hint of ww2.

The "Robot" feel is kind of cool if you picture a guy walking behind with a remote controlling them. It has a very "Pulp" feel I think. Kill the "Controller" and you shut down the "Robot". You might even be able to figure out how to control it to use it against your enemy.

For controlling even primitive robot needs a chips. IMHO classic electronic hi-tech not available in the end of WWII. But have some alternative way, for example bio computer - monkey`s brain in a canister Main problem is keep it alive and on line in robotic body, remote control with electric impulses is not problem. Little of pulp: investigations in this direction, opening of amazing drugs or something like this for creating of bio chip. Think, nazi has enough possibilitis for researching in this direction.

Yeah I agree with yellow, maybe a more creative and bizarre method of controlling the robot.
