Are these WWII dudes going to have a game based on the world that they're set in, or is this a job for Aetherverse?

We are working on rules it will take some time but we are doing some. I'm not sure who/what Aetherverse is but if they have rules already please feel free to use them. I think I have posted this somewhere before but here are some of the ideas we are working on.
The Germans will have a kind of combat enhancement through the different canisters they use.(Hence the gas mask ) Different effects include Faster reflexes Increased Toughness Increased Attacks Eagle eye etc..........
The Germans will have well trained snipers that are tough as nails in HtH as well as excellent shots. The Russians will have low cost troops so that there army will have greater numbers than most. Commissars will be able to help troops that are retreating by firing on them to motivate them to move to the enemy. They will also have an all female unit as well as lots of low cost snipers.
This is just a look at some of the ideas we are playing with. We are not going to reinvent the wheel we will try our best to use rules that we think will help the flow and playability of the game.
Cheers Robert

Aetherverse is a miniatures-independent game. The website of the company that created it is www.triskelegames.com/ . Will the rules be a free PDF type deal or will they be sold commercially?

Initially we will release the rules as a downloadable PDF. Then with the plan to release a full color, fully illustrated rule book, packed full of art and fluff. We will also be doing full color stat cards (like Confrontation) that will be downloadable.

We are creating the miniatures with specific imagery and a story in mind. Please note that the rules are in the making and we do not know when we will release them. If anyone has any thoughts or ideas on some rules this is the time to post them, we are open to hear them. This project will take some time, as "Rome was not built in a day."
We have a specific idea of how this world is forming and we will try to help you see our vision through our miniature line, fluff, concept art and one day a rule system. In the meantime please feel free to use whatever systems you like and enjoy the miniatures. When we can we will give you a glimpse into our world so you have an idea of where we are going.
Cheers, Robert

I dont know how you want these conflicts toe be fought, I mean you want to go the 40k route of having matched foes (each 2000 pts for example) or just with the number of units you got, very scenario/campaign based stuff, so that every battle will be very background based, hopefully also taking care of powergamers. (I dont like powergamers)
But okay how many factions do you want in the game? So far Ive seen: -Russians -Germans -Americans -Japanese (just as a start)

The project will go much deeper than that. We have a few great people who are helping out ( Thanks Leland) so we will be covering much more than what you listed. We wanted to create a strong base of miniatures for some of the major players and than we will be some deeper stuff.

Organisation of the forces, make it scenario based (Ive probably said that a million times by now, sorry)
Organise the forces like: -commanders (officers, heroes, etc) -troops (including elite troopers but also cavelry and bikers) -support (walkers, tanks, aircraft, artillery, etc)
Depending on what mission you are playing you can take a certain amount (either percentage of points or number of units) of each of these three categories. So you want to fight a tankwar, the scenario would allowed perhaps solely support units and commanders mounted in tanks. But normally you would have a commander and few lower officers, then the bulk would be troops and then some support.

I like the scenario based idea a lot, it would really help cut down on cookie-cutter lists.

Naw, it refers to generic army lists that are seen much too often (standard 40K Marine army with 6 5 man las/plas squads), or just armies that can only feasibly be fielded with certain troops.

oh or like 3 wraithlords in an Eldar army...sounds a whole lot like powergaming to be, or "bearding"
Sorry for going off topic here

Okay more ideas for rules, perhaps this would be more fitting for small scale games, but what about introducing the concept of combat fatigue? So a trooper would eventually get tired and less fast/strong/etc, this would also depend on what kind of trooper you play with but also with how much equipment he/she would be carrying.
Sounds like an idea? Extra realism!
