I think that would be kinda frustrating to keep track of for every model in an army, but that's just me.

Well dont you do the same with woundcount on models with multiple wounds? Besides this is for skirmish games, not large scale battles.

I can see it for a Mordheim style/size game but bigger battles you would want to cut down on the paperwork.

Perhaps for bigger battles you wouldnt count per model but per unit? Or for have some more of these detailed rules for skirmishes while for larger battles these rules wouldnt count

You could pay to upgrade units to make them veteran. Better weapons and stats but fewer in the unit to show the loss that comes with time in the field. 4-8 man units instead of full units?
