Hi,
Just got into a couple books that might be of interest to others on
this
list. Just finished The Moscow Option, by David Downing. It
postulates
a different course to WWII based on two critical incidents - Hitler is
put out of action by a plane crash for several crucial months in late
41- early 42, which allows his generals to maintain a focus in the
invasion of Russia they were not historically allowed; the second is
the
Japanese win the Battle of Midway. The book reads like a history,
detailing the course of events from those two entirely possible
changes.
I've just started the other book, called Target:America - Hitler's Plan
to Attack the United States, by James P. Duffy. It purports to reveal
plans and documents supporting those plans for carious attacks
worldwide, including attacks against the US. I'm not far enough into
it
to say one way or the other whether it is good or not, but it hints at
some interesting stuff.
I found the first book interesting. It detailed events that I have
long
speculated on, and actually reflected some wargames I've played about
the Eastern Front. Both books were found in the history section of my
local library.
Fred
If anyone else has any good books on Alternate History list it here.
Cheers
Robert
