Vatican is a good idea for factions otherwise lacking in occult troops. Alternatively your Chaplain (a military occultist) can 'requisition' Vatican forces or have special equipment, bogyguards. It also allows some nice characters. Of course...would the Teutonic Knights fight for or against Hitler?!

I would depend on who is in charge of the Vatican. That's why I liked the idea of a dead pope and nobody to replace him. Various high ranked Vatican figures would want to become the new pope, some of them would be pro allied while other are pro axis.

Evilm Pope has his joys......
Perhaps the Pope disappeared (was he kidnapped by the Germans...or maybe the Allies??) adn the Vatican is debating what to do now with various factions...who have heard rumours the Pope is alive and might be coming back/is working through one of the factions- or is he....etc, etc

The Pope has gone into hiding because of the many attempts on his life. He could speak through an "Emissary" or have messages sent to his operatives. We could start out with 1 or 2 Occult fighters that could join different factions and than as we progress we could add more standard troops it would in time become it own force but for now could be allies or a merc type selection.

Sounds good, I think starting the non major factions would work best this way- so adding British troops to an American force or Finns and Japanese to a German one.

During WWII, historically the actual pope did give, although somewhat limited, support to the Germans. Not a proud moment in the vatican history.

The Pope is about the total destruction of the Occult. What is done will be done in his name. The Angles of Righteous furry will cleanse all that have any knowledge of the Occult. Agents of the Pope will be in places you least expect them to be and will bring Fire with them to make sure all is "Clean" of the taint of evil.

Ooooo!!! Happy face now on! So we can expect inquisition and anti occult troops (maybe the Swiss Guard do mercenary work with anti occult stuff- will fight enemies with an occultist but not alongside them.. Joy!

Oh Ive been reading the Hellsing Mangas...and well we could so incoorporate that in there! We could have Catholic agents sent out as death squads to kill off all the occult and unbelievers. With the Vatican there could be a war between agents which have sided with the Axis while others joined the Allies. Heck we could even have the Germans sent in agents to infiltrate the Vatican, so the inclusion of vampire and werewolf like units inside the Vatican fighting alongside these pro Axis agents could be there while the Americans have some of their soldiers fighting alongside their agents.
And yeah...a gun slining Alucard character has to be in there!

i dunno about alucard... the priest guy with all the knives would be a good basis for a flavoursome character perhaps though...
