How will China fit in this game? If we are to have an "advanced" timeline (moving into the 1950s) would China also turn communist? So what about the idea of a Sino-Soviet state? Or would this be too much a copy of DUST?
Or should we already have a division between China and the USSR, so that you have a hostile relationship between the Marxist-Leninists and the Maoists.

The Chinese front would mainly be a resistance fight against the Japanese, with some civil disorder thrown in, as the nationalists and communists fought for dominance into the fifty's if I recall correctly. The Americans supported for the nationalists and soviet supported the Maoists. if we keep Japan as a major power in the war, it would be hard for the Americans to transport weapons to China. It would be easier for the soviets, giving the Maoists an advantage, and making the idea of a soviet/Chinese alliance possible.
Of course, this require that the soviets and Chinese is interested in cooperation.

China turned communist right after the war, 1946 or 1949, not entirely sure. Stalin was still alive at the time and ideologically speaking Mao was more interested in Stalin than in his successors.

Ummm....Americans supported Communist side too. I reckon we have a Chinese army supported by Russia as conventional with many guerilla units and a Nationalistic army on the Allied side. Both should be light infantry but conventional. I'd be interested in Indo-China (Vietnam to all you Yanks) which was occupied by Chinese, British (who got the Chinese out and looked after the place) and its 'owners' the French. Good place for a war. Korea too would be interesting. You would have Allies Vs Communists Vs Japanese.

I dont think the communists would openly fight against the other allies, however sabotaging each other might be an option. I could see Americans bomb roads in order to prevent the communists would advancing to quickly, giving an advantage to the nationalists.

No, I could see China as a melting point in which the Allies fall apart. China wants it, Allies want it non communist, same could happen in say Italy. Makes a three way faction split easier (Axis, Ally, Communist). After the brilliant Eastern Front victories Stalin could feel safer without Allies (perhaps he might even try another alliance with Germany?).

If I recall correctly Darkson made it quite clear that he didnt want a German/Russian alliance and I think we should definately stick to that.
As with the Allies falling apart, I doubt that would happen if they are still at war with the Axis forces.

True... Alright then, its just that Chinese Nationalist and Chinese Communist forces did fight each other. A secret war (particually through the rest of the Far East) would work well (good set up for a Pulp game, can the hero survive opposition Chinese and the Japanese....)

I think we would have the Nationalists who receive US support, the communist who receive Russian support and the Japanese faction (who has control of the Chinese Imperial family)

Sounds good! And then of course you add in the various other armies rampaging there; Russians, British, Americans....

Perhaps! I prefered if the British stayed in Hong Kong then, trying to defend their city. The Russians would march from the north down into China. The Americans couldnt reach China because Japan is blocking it, so the US can only send indirect support as in training and supplies scarcely. The Japanese would have control of the seas surrounding China and would have quite a powerful foothold in that land.

Americans can send aid through British colonies (as they did in '46). Britain should hold Hong Kong, a fortress city- perhaps they have recaptured Singapore too? Russians will be in Manchuria.

The Russians will try to invade Manchuria due to its natural resources and all that. The Japanese have still occupied it, the idea a long siege war could be very interesting there!

I think both would be possible, its a very large area we are dealing with. We could even have the Japanese using the Chine Great Wall as a defensive structure, mounted with turrets etc.
