New player....who covered his bases by selling/trading off enough unused minis that I can field German and US detachments -- making it easier to drum up an opponent until the guys at the shop who're interested in AE-WWII get their own armies built.
Our first game -- set for a few weeks from now -- has four players fielding one detachment each. I wanted to make sure they're legal as I have to prioritize my painting.
Right now, we're going to play:
German Experimental Detachment
Elite Officer
Veteran Doktor
Sturmaffe (reg)
Feuersoldat squad OR a Rohlingsoldat with MG42 (reg)
3 squads of Emaciated Troopers
Support Detachment
Elite Officer
Krieghundsoldat (vet)
Tankhunter team (one kar & one panzerfaust)
LMG team (one kar & one MG42)
Two Wehrmacht squads (all the infantry are regular)
American Experimental
Elite Airborne CO
Veteran Mechanic
Regular Airborne Squad (M1s)
Buffalo or Rocket Troops (reg)
Buffalo or Rocket Troops (reg)
Two squads of Robot Infantry (green) I DO have a 3rd squad of these things.
Infantry Detachment
Elite Officer
Veteran Sniper
Three Squads of Regular Infantry (1 toting a BAR)
Two Squads of Green Infantry
Green Bazooka Team
All of my conventional infantry (meaning the German officers and the rank and file rifle toting grunts except the two airborne) are Blacktree, as I wanted to keep the rank n' file a little more historical in appearance and figured it didn't matter if they're legal in terms of "what you see is what you get." Happy to see that size wise, they fit pretty well.
I do have more panzerfausts, a bunch of grenadiers lugging grenade bundles and a US Browning .30 team. But I figured the above detachments would be fun for folks to play.
Really excited about starting with these rules. Any input would be appreciated. Any units I should get that I don't have? In a few weeks I could get more as what I have now is from trades....nothing out of pocket, which the wife appreciates ;D
Thanks
Matt
