Hmm like Darkson feared this is slowly turning into a political debate ARRRRGGGGGGG This is a frustrating one........ Unfortunately seeing as the two biggest ideologies in WW2 (and powers) were both based on political rule theres not much you can do. Morality is always a difficult one...

There were atrocities on both sides of the war. Is the fire bombing of Dresden any better than Japanese shooting POW's or Churchill deliberately letting a British town to be bombed so he would not reveal to the Luftwaffe that he had their codes? I guess playing all sides as participants in war, without glorifying anybody's position will allow the game to move forward. A legal disclaimer also helps.

Definately a legal disclaimer! Its more dealing with the cold blooded deliberate extermination of people for only an ideology that causes trouble.

And ideology was used as an excuse for personal power, well especially if we look at the crimes commited by the 'communist' leaders such as Stalin and Mao.
Same goes for the Nazis who killed the large numbers of communists and other dissidents under the excuse of the Nazi ideology...

Yeah, ideology is a great excuse...That said look to McCartney for how a hatred of ideology can be just as bad.

Same could be said about religion, if we look at catholic church of the past or even fundamentalism in various religions in the last few decades.

Indeed...and we get inspired to create games because of it! I would say the game is more based on the heroism of the time and heroic actions than it is based on the ideology.

I didnt mean that we were inspired by the ideology, we were inspired by this horrible war in which both heroism and villainy happened.
