Ok I'll bite I have been looking at this game for ages. I am in Australia & have no local gamers/suppliers for this game but the minis look too good not to paint. Guess I will figure it out as I go Happy Gaming, Allan

Hello, I've been setting back awhile and really enjoying the show so far ,the new releases are very cool. I look forward too the release of the core rule book. I've been a military figure modeller for years and this really opens doors to the imagination , your sculpts are very well done as I recieved my first batch about 21/2 weeks ago from brookhurst hobbies I'm not really sure which faction will win out but right now I'm currently working on a OSS convertion reminisiceint of the CIA in A-stan using your NCO figure.Which brings me to my first question as far as scale how do your mini's scale out against the victory force miniatures, Artizan so on and so forth please keep em coming! Additionally are there plans to take this juggernaught north of the grapevine? Derek

Welcome both of you! DSmith, I will post a picture today of an artizan mini next to a AE-WW2 mini so you can see the difference. It's a big one. Same "size" but darkson features are more "human" and less cartoony. Look in the creative section of the forum for a topic thread called Artizan vs. Darkson Scale Comparison. It'll be on later today. Hope that helps!

Welcome to the both of you glad you guys joined up. We have a great bunch of guys on this forum that are always very helpful. We are working on getting AE-WWII into Australia. Just keep asking your LGS and they should start inquiring about our stuff with their distributors. We will be going North of the Grapevine next convention season. I think we will be going to some of the SF cons. ;D As for getting our stuff in shops up north all I can say is let your LGS know that you would like to start playing the game and they should look into the range. If their distributor does not carry AE products they can get in touch with us as we are more than happy to get them info on distributors they carry our product or info on how to go direct with us. Cheers, Robert

That was the biggest thing for me with Privateer Press... the reason I got into it and sort of faded from GW... GW releases a big amount every now and then, privateer press would steadily release things little by little always giving me a reason to check their website and keep on my toes looking for updates... that little bit over a long period of time is defintely a good way to pique people's interests and keep their interest... not too mention your studio painter is probably not human, his painting is ridiclous

Might as well introduce myself here as I think I'm probably going to be posting my opinions, and potentially trampling on toes as Im studying engineering and I enjoy studying history, especially ground and armored combat in WW2. So basically I view all the great creative ideas on the forums through the lens of engineering and history, so expect me to point out historical examples of why things just like that were tried and discarded... advanced warning...
I ordered a couple figures primarily due to the quality of the sculpts, gaming is a secondary thing till I have a better job that gives me free time to go the FLGS. Great sculpts and intriguing free rules have managed to get the game onto my active collection docket, along with my 40k armies.

Welcome aboard evernevermore. Its great that you posted here. feel free to provide input, the crew is more than welcome to ideas and new perspective. Don't get frustrated with the miniatures if you ordered some of the older kits as we have been improving the design over the last few releases. We listen to what our costumers have to say about our miniatures and than try to make improvements. Next year is going to be a great year to be a part of AE as we will have the full rules released as well as we will be releasing our first expansion book that will add even more troops, hero's, and stuff we cant talk about yet. Sorry got a little carried away. Welcome to AE..... Cheers, Robert

Hi, found out about Darkson Designs a month ago through Battlefield Berlin web shop. Ordered the Russian snipers and Special Edition miniatures. Absolutely great sculpts. Finally really good ww2 miniatures (pulp or not) that look human, not the usual toony ridiculously big hands, weapons and so on. Nice detail work also. Needed more modellin than usually in this scale, but it´s worth it and gives more pose choises. I must check out the rules when they come out, but even though the game would not be that great i will be ordering more miniatures from DD. Any Finland troops coming out in the future (that would be too good to be truth). Propably part of the german faction as we were forced to be allied with them against russia back then. If you were about to release some finnish troops, you must read these. Suomi M-31 SMG was so important part of finnish infantry weapons in ww2 that everyone here still today remebers it, even my sisters cat know about Suomi konepistooli. So if you do finnish troops atleast concider M-31 smg weapon choise. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suomi_M-31_SMGAnd heres a better picture, so you can see the round barrel that the original finnish M-31-SMG (also known as suomikonepistooli) has. www.latvatalo.net/Suomi_Konepistooli/suomi_konepistooli.htmAlso important weapon was Pystykorva rifle (M28). Finnish sniper Simo Häyhä (also known as White Death) killed 505 russians with iron sighted related M28 Pystykorva rifle (modified mosin-nagant) during winterwar. He also killed over 200 russians with Suomikonepistooli i mentioned above. Quite a soldier, dont you think? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simo_H%C3%A4yh%C3%A4Some antitank weapons that were used: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PanzerfaustEagerly waiting for more releases...
