And that right there is why we love you as GM! I think that should be part of a formal agenda for the day even. Amen, brother!

Put together 2 soviet guard, 3 chumans, one politruk, 2 banshees, and 2 psi commandos, and maybe hopefully a jeep today. Looking foward to every one giving me a whipping as I learn how to play in Indy.

not sure if this has been asked before but is the Occult book legal to use in this tournament? Yes it is. Which means you'll have two days to incorporate the stuff from it before the tourney starts!

Or less than 24 hours for those of us arriving on Friday. I think a beer addled speed painting session is in order! ;D

I've posted the Competitive Campaign rules as well as the campaign tree for the GenCon Indy 2009 tournament on our downloads page. For those of you interested in participating in the tournament, download both documents and begin tooling your forces in preparation for the tournament on Saturday the 14th.
Due to the low response, completely painted detachments aren't required, though we do have an award for the 'best looking' detachment so if you've got the time make those detachments look pretty!
Please don't hesitate to ask if you've got any questions regarding the tournament or the competitive campaign rules.

reading over the campaign quickly, do we have to take double detachments? For the GenCon campaign? You really should. You might be misunderstanding the concept. You don't need that many minis, all you're doing is building a double-sized detachment from which you'll pull units from prior to each scenario. If you choose not to build a double-detachment you're really limiting yourself in flexibility to adjust your detachment for each new scenario. Some scenarios are offensive in nature, some are defensive; without the ability to adjust your detachment slightly, you may find yourself at a huge disadvantage.

it's funny that is exactly what i thought on my way to work, it was more of a "side board" as they call it in magic tcg. where you can pick and choose units depending on what you needed. I am assuming that you can only "side board" from one book and not one of each?

I am assuming that you can only "side board" from one book and not one of each? You can use elements from both the Core Rulebook and the Occult Expansion when building your campaign detachment.

The only 'problem' I see is acheiving an axis/allies balance with players entering the tournament. But I guess you can just designate some 'chaos Americans'!

lol i think there will be more German players. I figure that with two solid days of demoing they can also get some new recruits into the game and let them use some of the studio minis if they really need to balance out the teams.
