Welcome to the forum Sephirob. I used to live in Provo UT so I know the area you are in. If you have the time check out the Creative Workshop as we are painting Regulars this month and posting them. It's a great way to jump in with both feet and get some painting in. Cheers, Robert Getting ready for a flying mission.

I'm a long time wargamer, going on 15 years of playing and painting now, and I love skirmish games. Confrontation, Infinity, and Malifaux are the main ones I play, but I'm absolutely excited about starting in on this game! Great fluff, brilliant concept (Skirmish scale, vehicle light 28 mm WWII with actually awesome minis is just mind boggling! Usually historical games just put me off, but this one snagged my attention immediately. Hellboy-esque stuff? OSS model after Mr. Blazkowitz? Yes please! I had a similar experience. Historical games were never my thing, but the fusion of the historical and the weird definitely got my attention. And now I am reading a lot more of the historical background, to go along with Darkson's excellent research and writing. Welcome to the game!

Welcome to the forum Kacper. The Soviets are a lot of fun to play with and an excellent match against the Americans.
Be sure to post details of battles between you and your friend and any more minis you paint.
Happy New Year,
Chris

Hi everybody! I'm from Jackson, MI and I've just recently come into contact with this awesome game. I'm a big fan of pulp and alternative history. I've ordered the three starter boxes, a small assortment of additional minis, the rulebook, templates and tokens. I've tried the rules out using other minis WWII I have and I really like the game mechanics so I decided it was time to run the game with the actual minis now. I've already ordered the Occult book through my FLGS and hopefully it will be in my grubby little hands very soon. I also eagerly await the release of AE Bounty because at heart I've always been a scifi nerd.

Welcome aboard everyone. One of the awesome things about AE is that they let you use other WWII minis as well as theirs, so long as they are 25mm and mounted on the proper sized bases.

Hello everyone,
I'm somewhat new to wargames (have slowly been getting into Warmachine since February), but am excited about starting on AE-WWII. I've recently relocated to Iqaluit, on Baffin Island in northern Canada, so unfortunately there are no gaming stores here, but I plan on picking up detachments from a couple of factions so that I can teach other people to play up here. If anyone happens to be up here visiting, get in touch!
At this point I'm most interested in Americans (mainly experimental stuff), some of the German stuff and the ROA/Apocalypse units, and will likely build a detachment from each.

Welcome aboard.
So is there much of a gaming community there? No hobby shop, that's got to suck. Well if you run enough factions I'm sure you'll find yourself pretty popular as AE-WWII is an excellent game.
I remember almost having to fly out to some island (Ilse de la Madeline, I think) out away from Quebec city to look at a car at a dealership. It had a population of 1000 and we were surprised to even know there was a dealership there. Anyways the problem only occurred during really bad snowy weather and we couldn never get booked on the only flight out there when the problem occurred. They ended up finding a car with a similar problem in Fargo and shipped me there to look at it (during a record snow storm). I was always curious to know what it was going to be like going to that island.
I pretty much collect all factions. Americans have some great toys, but the new stuff has made even the Germans and Soviets pretty sexy. I've just accumulated enough models to make some British Detachments, but haven't played them yet. The list looks pretty damn cool for the British Army and I've played against an MoAA Detachment once and it was pretty fun. I think ROA is very under-rated and the guys in my group are starting to find that out playing against the only player who's doing ROA.

Welcome to the board. The ROA are some of my favorite too. Don't forget the Canadians were in WWII as well. We have some interesting plans for them in the near future If you do get more than one faction to play so that you can teach others, look into becoming a Darkson Partisan too. -Chris

Well if you run enough factions I'm sure you'll find yourself pretty popular as AE-WWII is an excellent game. Not very much of a gaming community. Population of 7,000, 60% Inuit so it tends to be more hunting, snowmobiling, etc. as popular activities. But, got to make the best of it, so I'll see whether I can find some people who enjoy games to interest in it. Next step is to get the rule book and some miniatures and start learning! I may consider the Partisan program, once I get a handle on the game. I'll be interested to see what Canadian units become available. Thanks for the welcome!

I empathise with EVERYONE who finds it hard to find folks to game with!
Where I live its all 40k & bloody Warhammer - so I might as well live in the middle of no-where!

HOWDY ALL!
I am DAWGIE, singed up here a while back but saying hello and even following the forum as a lurker all got lost in the shuffle of real life.
i am an aulde fart wargamer - been doing this with leads, dice, rules, measuring tapes, terrain and rule books since the 1970s when i was a tender young thing. i have played just about everything from dinosaurs to starships and starship troopers in many different figure scales, figure ratios, with armies and individual skirmishers. sci fi is my one true love for gaming.
i do not have these rules yet, am curious about them, and wondered about what lead/plastic toys y'all use with them.
do tell!
